Fuel pouring out of charcoal canister.

The carb has to be sending the fuel through the hose, maybe float level is too high??

    What is this noise/chirp…speedometer cable?

Yep, speedo cable. You can reach up and unclip it from the speedo, pull it down toward the floor and squirt some lube in the cable housing. Not too much though, just a couple small squirts. Motorcycle chain lube works good as it isn't runny.

I have an extra set of 13" Suby BRAT tires if you need them! :laughing1:

    Vent window latch issues

It looks like you have the wrong latch for that application. That glass must be for '81 & up that used these type of latches with a longer handle.

What did you pay for a square

It came with a beat-up 5th wheel tailgate, so I found a pretty nice one on CL in California, had it shipped via Fastenal. Bought brand new shoes, installed a 2" Add-A Leaf in the front, stuck on the fender emblem & a nice used door molding with some 3M & Viola! Restored a nice tailgate band &...

What did you pay for a square

I found mine on CL listed for $3,200. I had been looking for a Square for awhile and I liked the fact that it was a K20(so I thought it was called that!) I called and offered the guy $2,800 and said he'd take it but another guy offered him the same and was supposed to come look at it, I showed...

What did you pay for a square

You definitely lucked-out with that one for sure. Looks like a nice clean, straight truck!

    Trailering your square body

Facing forward is the best. Also, if you have any type of protection rail on the front of your trailer deck, the rear bumper of the truck will prohibit you from getting the weight of the truck forward, reducing the tongue weight & making trailer fishtail.

Remove accessories from this old truck?

My opinion is that running boards belong in the scrap pile! I've seen them rust trucks out pretty bad, and it just gives the truck/Burb/Blazer a taller, tougher look without them.

    TH400 Information Thread

My W-30 currently has a PW trans w/performance mod's. She shifts aggressively & barks them in all gears. Somewhere, somehow in it's travels, the OW magically got swapped out & none of the PO's knew how. I did manage to purchase a correct '70 OW that had been pulled and put in storage, sounded...

What have you done to your square lately??

It/they might soften & collapse a bit once used for awhile.

    TH400 Information Thread

A bit off topic here Nick, but I was wondering about your knowledge of the OW trans used in the '70 W-30's, compared to other Olds & RARE Buick applications. I understand the during the GM strike of late 1970, that some OW's were installed into the GS Buicks on accident, due to unknowledgable...

New head unit turns on and then right back off.

Yeah, red wire ALWAYS needs to be hooked up. Yellow & Orange wires are usually smaller because of their purpose also.

    Hanging I-Beam from ceiling joists

For whatever reason, I was thinking the CJ's were carrying more of a load. You probably could have had an engineered roof truss built for cheaper, but you still would have needed bottom cord support. That's a beefy set-up!

    Instrument Bezel Referb

You have to shake the sh*t out of the pen, then get the paint flowing good by pushing down on the tip on a piece of cardboard or something. Once you get it flowing good, then light press it down on the plastic and move at a steady pace.

Show me your 8 lug wheels!

Yes. The hub may be a little snug, but they bolt right up and do not interfere with the suspension or calipers. Since they are a 9/16" thread on the Squares, I had to buy lugnuts off Ebay that are 9/16" w/14mm exterior threaded for the caps to screw onto. It was only like $28 for the 32 lugnuts...

    Installs to do before windshield?

I tore my dash apart, cleaned the duct work, rewired a few things, rebuilt/replaced the radio cutout, installed new dash speakers, refurbished cluster, & installed a new pad with the windshield in. It was all easily done.

    Hanging I-Beam from ceiling joists

Well, I think you're pushing the span of 16" for anything real heavy. Do you have any ties to the rafters from the CJ's?? If you had a couple running from rafter to cj, I think that'd be better. I don't believe you are in any danger of them cracking, of course depending on the grade, but gravity...
