Help with bolt location on Trans (85 K10)

Gents, I recently picked up an 85 K10 and after going over it have found its a basket case, however I am working through it and straightening things out. This is my first Chevy Truck, so I saw this and thought it looked a bit odd. I believe it is a TH700-R4 tranny and the engine decodes...

New Exhaust, now loud vibration/droning noise in cab

Ok, thanks for the replies. I will see what they are willing to do for me. Even if I have to throw a few bucks at them that may be the best option for me I guess.

Looking for a good Dodge forum

ramchargercentral.com is really good too. They are focused more on the ram charger, but its like the K5 and K10 etc. When I had my 89 D250 that was my resource site.

New Exhaust, now loud vibration/droning noise in cab

Ok i never thought of the reverb from the turndowns, as they arent really pointed straight down and are more of a 45 deg angle, but that is a good thought. I dont know how willing they will be to redo the exit point, so if i angle the exits to the side of the truck from the turndowns, instead of...

New Exhaust, now loud vibration/droning noise in cab

They are thrush welded mufflers, they do a 45 deg or so turn down, just prior to the rear axle, and they used regular rubber style to metal clamp hangers.

New Exhaust, now loud vibration/droning noise in cab

Hey guys, A week or so ago I had a set of long tube headers put on the truck and the remainder of the pipe replaced, with exception of the mufflers (they were still good). Truck runs fine and it sounded great. I have maybe put only 30 miles on it since the work was done. The problem I...

    Rear Brake Issue

Gents When I bought the truck the guy I got it from told me that occasionally the rear left brake would stick when first starting to move. He mentioned that he thought this was because the brake shoes may have been put on incorrectly, meaning the one that goes in the front in the back and vice...

Easiest way to tell front lift?

Thats what Im finding with this truck. It had some things done to it, but they were all done a while ago, so I am working on bringing it back up to date. Would there be any advantage to having a actual "lift kit" set of front springs, other than new, fresh springs under it?

Easiest way to tell front lift?

Thanks for the responses guys, here are a few more pics of the front springs. After reading the responses I think Bucket youre probably right, it looks like the 2 stock springs, with 2 more added underneath. Note the nice new exhaust work and headers in the last photo :)

Easiest way to tell front lift?

Ok guys, I took a few pics this morning. The first one shows how it sits from the side (Looks like its sagging a bit in the back, though I do have an old seat and some other heavy crap parts in the back right now) The second is of the front suspension showing the leaf springs The third is of...

Easiest way to tell front lift?

Thanks for the quick replies guys! As for some of the questions: The tires are 33x12.5 on 15s No red bushings, and I have not looked close enough at the top of the leaf springs to see a name. I believe there are four leaves up front. There is definetly no neg arch on the fronts, they...

Easiest way to tell front lift?

Hey guys, I picked up a 85 K10 last week, new to GM trucks, but not to older trucks in general. Anyhow, I am going over the truck, trying to figure out exactly what is on it and get a basis for a good starting point on fixing and making it my own. The truck has 3" lift blocks in the...

    New to me K10

Ok that would make sense, thats what it is. Where they bolted it up though, the drivers side front bolt is almost directly above the front portion of the gas tank and quite hard to get to! ugghhh Love the truck though and am having a blast brining it back from the hack job it had done to it :)

    New to me K10

Thanks for the replies guys. Heres a pic of the grille I got out of the junk yard and repainted yesterday. It looks a bit better than the brown to me. Quick question I have about the interior. I posted a pic of the bench seat that is currently in the truck. I went to take it out and the...

    New to me K10

Hello All, I recently sold my 89 Dodge D250 (2wd) that I have had for about 8 years and picked up a 85 K10. I loved my D250, but unfortunately they make next to no parts for it and my options were limited on tinkering with it...so bring on the new truck. I picked up the K10 about 3 days...
