    The last pre-emmisions diesel

Nice choice. But, why would anyone want to cover up that sweet, sweet, 5.9 Cummins sound?

    2021 Kia Sorento

Seeing that it was left to your wife, you are in a no lose situation. Drive it till it dies and you aren't out anything. Or, as mentioned above, if you don't want it or need it, sell it off or trade it.

    1976 Chevy Chalet

Neighbor of ours just up the road had one from new and drove it as their daily driver for years. Then, it sat behind their garage until he died. No idea what happened to it after that.

    Show your daily driver

My Sprinter is the OM-651 2.1L 4cyl diesel. I am constantly amazed at the fuel mileage that a vehicle of that size can accomplish. MB has been in the small diesel market for many years both with their 3.0L 6 and the 4 cyl offerings and have a great following in that crowd. I have no idea...

    Budget Beater Build: 2004 Dakota

Little update. Finally treated the old Dakota to a set of new tires yesterday. It had some miss matched tires on it when I got it and we finally wore them out.

    1978 Chevy Suburban - $2,500

Sure that they didn't miss a zero in that price? NO way that thing is only worth $2500.

1985 K20.. ZERO RUST. weathered Clean.

Dream truck for many right there. I'm sure that the next owner will be incredibly happy with it.

1975 Chevy Camaro - One Owner and Only 31K original miles!! - $3,900

I wish that one was closer. Almost exactly what I have been looking for. Something a little odd with the door/fender alignment on the passenger side pic though.

    Old Gas Can

Nice. I love seeing old stuff like that.

Patch Panel or Metal Fabrication ?

I'd vote for patch panels that you can fit and trim as needed. My gut tells me that once you start really diving in to those areas, the rust will be much more extensive than it appears. By the time you get to good clean steel, you may end up with a ton of fabrication.

Patch Panel or Metal Fabrication ?

Have you started in the there with a hammer to see how far the rust extends in those areas? Or, is what we are seeing just scraping/cleaning up the areas?

    Filled both tanks - BRUTAL

I usually fill up my daily driver Ram when I hit 1/4 tank. Last two fill ups have been ~$130 of diesel.

    Budget Beater Build: 2004 Dakota

Pulling this thread back up to answer this question. We've put approx 1500 miles on it since I got it back on the road. It's averaging 14 mpg. Not great, but not bad for an occasional use vehicle.

I have been battling this very same issue for over a year now. Glad to hear that you were able to get yours done.

    Advice on my 57 chevy

Exactly. The modifications on that car, including the round rear wheel wells are classic 70s Era things. I would honestly hate to see someone reverse those modifications. It would completely eliminate the personality that the OP's father gave it. If it were me, I'd clean it up, go through...

    Rust converters and Frame paint

I've used Eastwood Rust Encapsulator recently. It seems to stand up to our road salt environment for a year or two before the rust starts through again.

    Advice on my 57 chevy

Send it out to me, I'll give it a good home....LOL In all seriousness, it depends completely on the overall condition of the body, floors, and chassis. If it is 100% rust free, it will be much more valuable than if it ran and drove but was rotted beyond repair if that makes sense. With that...

    Need some advice please

If you have the funds available, I would definitely get it out of impound and get it to a secured storage area or as you said, your friends house. Too much effort to let it go to waste.

    Are pneumatic tools obselete?

I realize that I am behind the times, but I have yet to purchase any battery powered tools. And to be honest, other than wanting to wrap the portable impact driver around the neck of whoever thinks it is a good idea to use one at 6:00 AM in a campground to retract their stabilizer jacks, I know...

I was just going to ask the same question, any evidence of a leak? If not, it will probably be OK once it is reassembled.

Piece of _____ Liars on Craigslist!

I know that I've told this story here before at some point, but my absolute worst was last January when I attempted to buy an old Pontiac Grand Prix ex drag car roller. I spoke with the seller, discussed price, came to an agreement, grabbed a trailer and cash, and headed that way. When I got...

Piece of _____ Liars on Craigslist!

I had started a similar thread a while back about trying to buy off of Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace. Needless to say, I've had my time and fuel wasted so many times that I've just given up.
