    How To Refurbish Your Dashpad

That is probably your best bet as once that original foam is dried out, it is all dried out and will continue to crack. I now wish that I had stripped my entire foam off prior to covering it with leather which took quite some time.

    How To Refurbish Your Dashpad

The brown one that I did awhile back sat in my front yard without a windshield screen protector (cardboard) and it did mess up around where I had redone the factory speaker holes. I am almost redone with that repair. I did two different dashes, the brown one and another red one that I covered...

Noob here looking for help deciding wether to purchase a new crate motor or do an engine re-fresh

First thing that you need to do is figure out what smog laws you are under as different counties in CA have different rules. If you are subject to biannual inspections, don't even think about an LS/LT swap. Huge PITA in CA. My local ref told me that yes an LS/LT would run cleaner, better blah...

Cut New Dash Pad For Speaker Install?

You can redo your stock dash to come out looking very nice with a little effort. There is a thread in the interior section on how to do it. I am getting ready to do my second dash and I will be installing tweeters under the dash with custom speaker grills. Still debating whether or not to...

Prepped, epoxied, base coated and cleared them. I was going to give them a matte finish, but I like the gloss finish.

Never liked GM's crappy pull strap design. Like they couldn't have designed those NOT to break!!!! So I made my own filler pieces

    C30 Crew Cab Interior Rehab

Stole the interior trim pieces that I could from the donor Suburban and purchased a couple of aftermarket parts online. But they were all the wrong color, not anymore.

The truck didn't have a headliner and was missing a bunch of interior trim. After screwing around trying to make a donor Suburban headliner board work, I gave up and stole the board out of an 83 CC that I have.(will be for sale soon!) That is real 100% 16oz Scottish Wool. I even have some...

...then coated and textured the panels. I will wait about a week and hit them with some Dark Carmine that I got from USA1 - turns out it is a perfect match. I liked the color so much that I had some Base Coat Urethane and Gloss Solid Body Urethane paint mixed up to match for...well, not sure...

Stripped the panels bare and gave them a good cleaning with paint prep scuffing paste which has both a soap and a scuffing agent in it. Filled the holes, added a few coats of filler in prep for paint.

    C30 Crew Cab Interior Rehab

I started by pulling the interior door panels out of a 91 parts Suburban that I have. Since Suburbans have a better chance of being in good shape, this is what I started with. I don’t like the factory pouches, they look cheesy to me (no offense meant!) and I wanted the Crew Cab interior trim...

    C30 Crew Cab Interior Rehab

I am in the middle of redoing the interior of my 89 Crew Cab, adding the missing headliner and doing a stereo install. This is what I started with. The original interior color was red, which has been given a half @$$ hack job to convert it to black. Besides the garbage attempt/execution the...

...then coated and textured the panels. These aren’t the final color, but are close. I will wait about a week and hit them with some Dark Carmine SEM color coat that I had mixed up in quarts. Still to come are the custom lower panels that will house the speakers, rear sub install, redo the...

    How To Refurbish Your Dashpad

Use the foam and total boat epoxy. Just like bodywork it is all in the prep. Use a spray on Guide Coat (SEM) and sanding blocks. If I can do it, anyone can.

Quick update on the dash, painted the insert then gave it a matte clear. Hopefully it will go in this weekend.
