If you are converting from a carburetor to this just follow the directions in your kit. An ignition wiring diagram for an 87-92 TBI motor would show you how the stock engines were wired. Sent from my SM-A705U using Tapatalk

I use a Blue Streak coil with my factory TBI. Sounds like you still have the same type of ignition system. Stock type coil should work. Sent from my SM-A705U using Tapatalk

Need an air injection pump (smog pump) for an 87 gmc V2500 TBI 350

Why not just put a better catalytic converter on it that will burn the exhaust gases better and give you better performance. Air pumps are worthless. Sent from my SM-A705U using Tapatalk

    Alternator belt slip

I converted my 87 V20, 5.7, over to the serpentine belt system. I pulled everything off a 92 GMC Sierra 1500. Everything swapped over easily and I now have a 105 amp alternator charging my dual batteries. It is so nice not having to deal with four belts anymore, and the water pump is easier to...

How to fix loose gm steering column

I know what you were saying. If you do it the way you say to do it odd's are it will operate perfectly and there will be no problems. That's how I teach too. Clayton Sent from my SM-A705U using Tapatalk

How to fix loose gm steering column

I'm having this very same problem with my tilt column in my 87 V20. I'ed have it out and apart if I had a second vehicle to drive. Still my daily driver going on 34 years come April 1st. I've been on the lookout for another good used tilt column if I can find one at the right price. Clayton...

Vince's TBI woes, progressive revelations, and tbi mods.

You're good to go at WOT then. I still think your TPS may need replacement due to the higher than specifications voltage at closed throttle. Clayton Sent from my SM-A705U using Tapatalk

Your wide open throttle voltage ought to be closer to 4.5-5 volts. You need a new TPS. Clayton Sent from my SM-A705U using Tapatalk

Should be at .45 to .50 at idle. Mine is at .50 at idle. Clayton Sent from my SM-A705U using Tapatalk

Divorced coil ignition system - What is the correct module connector?

Check out rockauto.com, I just got a pigtail for my IAC valve connector. They have the coil wire pigtail with both connectors. If your wires are good just de-pin the broken plug and put the new connector on your wires. I did that with my IAC connector. Clayton Sent from my SM-A705U using Tapatalk

    Optima Batteries worth the cost?

Yup, you want to get the freshest battery you can get. That's why I like Interstate batteries. They rotate their inventory regularly. Clayton Sent from my SM-A705U using Tapatalk

    Optima Batteries worth the cost?

I would go with the Interstate battery with the highest cranking amps you can get. Interstate is a long lasting battery. I try to stay away from auto parts store batteries because they don't last. Clayton Sent from my SM-A705U using Tapatalk

    Optima Batteries worth the cost?

Look's like a parasitic draw from some of your onboard electronics drew down your battery. Newer rigs you really need to start up and run atleast once a week. Clayton Sent from my SM-A705U using Tapatalk

Mine didn't throw a code. I just watched the voltage go from .68 to 1.28 volts as I slowly pressed on the accelerator pedal. My Scan tool has paid for it's self because it allow's you to see the sensors in live action. My new TPS sensor voltage read at .5v with the throttle closed. Clayton...

Glad I could help. I just dealt with some faulty sensors, and broken wiring to sensor connections on my 87 V20. After 33 years the sensors just wear out, and the wiring get's brittle and breaks, or corrodes. TBI is pretty much trouble free and very dependable when it is working properly...

.68 volts is too high at closed throttle. Should be .45 to .50 volts. Clayton Sent from my SM-A705U using Tapatalk

My TPS ended up causing my idle problems. Had a bad spot in the throttle positioning. Key on motor off and moving the throttle it went from .68 to 1.28 volts on my scan tool. Replacing the TPS fixed my idle problems. Clayton Sent from my SM-A705U using Tapatalk
