Looking At Buying 1997 Cheyenne C1500 As Daily Driver Feedback Please

To play devil's advocate here... just because it doesn't have a "Carfax" history, doesn't mean that the history is bad. I have NEVER had any service done at a stealership on any of my vehicles (several purchased new) unless it was for warranty repair. I do however had a computer spreadsheet...

    Blower fan/relay

The purple wire hooks directly into the blower motor. On my truck ('82) it is the only plug that is on the actual blower motor. The ground, is just wire from the blower motor housing / frame to the firewall.

    New clapped out ‘87 350

I think for $500, you're going to get away with a stock rebuild and some recommended machine work, that's it. I spent almost $2k on a "budget" 305 for my truck. Not high hp numbers. Just a mild cam, flat top pistons, a slight (.008) head decking job, and quality head work with a valve job. That...

    Show your sick toy !!!

Here are a couple of mine. Had to edit... the last picture, the center camper trailer isn't mine. It's my Mom's, and I just store it for her because I have the room.

    Very nice!

    Mudflaps-not the woman type.

Thank you! First time I've ever had a boat (my 3rd overall) that has more hp than the tow rig. It has the 380hp Volvo Penta 6.0 in it. Cruises at 50 mph pretty easily!

    Mudflaps-not the woman type.

Hey... what's soo bad about the single big mud/rock flap. :) I have BOTH style on my truck. The big "unibrow" does wonders for keeping rock chips off my boat.

How is everyone making their wiring look not a mess under the hood.?

    Sounds pretty cool. Any pictures?

Loud Knock After Replacing Intake Manifold

The video of it cranking over just isn't fast enough to produce that same noise it sounds like. I don't know, but I'm leaning more towards pushrod / rocker arm chatter from your fist video. What doesn't make sense though is if you only replaced the intake, you wouldn't have messed with the...

Fixing vapor lock now that I barely made it home, experience with 3 port filters?

I don't know that you have a fuel issue. Especially with the behavior you're getting from the truck, in January, in Oregon. I'm leaning towards Ignition Control Module... (maybe because I just dealt with that being my issue). My issues started out very similar, and I'm wondering if when you...

I have always loved that latest model GTO. A guy might see one a year here in my neck of the woods.

    Goodyear Military sand Performance?

No experience with that tire on sand, but just about any tire on sand likes to be under-inflated. If you have a way to air down when hitting the sand, then airing back up for the street, do it. I don't know how heavy the sidewalls are on those Wranglers, but I'd imagine they're pretty good...

    Bought a boat

Not sure how I missed this thread before now, but looks like you did a good job on the rebuild. We loved our toon when we had it. I wanted something more, and the wife didn't want anything, the pontoon was the compromise. Since then (14 years later) we're on our 3rd boat, and one I don't want to...

New LED headlights, black or clear housings?

I think the black might be too much, especially if you have the chrome front bumper. Go with the clear lenses/housings if you're going with chrome in the front end.

    350 TBI in California

This is coming from a guy that doesn't have to worry about that inspection crap, thankfully, but why would it matter what it looks like, or came with? If it passes the so called "snif" test (I'm assuming it calculates the amount of un-burnt fuel coming out of the exhaust) then who the hell cares...

    1979 Big 10 Engine & Transmission Upgrade

Damn, that's a true sleeper. Great results, especially since it falls right in line with what you were hoping/expecting.

700R4 that only mildly backs up at 1200 rpm

Glad to hear you got this figured out Gilmore. I was going through a very similar situation a little less than a year ago. I got super frustrated as well, and had some great advice from some of the same people you did in this thread. Unfortunately I didn't figure out what my real issue is...

    TH350 Dipstick tube

The tube in your link does appear to be the same general shape of the 2 factory tubes that I have. What you're really going to need to watch is the actual dip stick length. Doesn't really matter if it's factory or not, but it does matter how low the dip stick sits in the trans pan so that you...

81 up dash pad anyone bought one recently

Where is their store front? I live in Topeka, and would drive a little ways to remove the $25 shipping charge I just paid YESTERDAY for new door seals.

    Cutting coils

Keep in mind, if you do cut even 1 coil out of your springs, you will more than likely need lowered shocks as well. Ask me how I know. I have a great front set of brand new KYB's that I couldn't install.

    Flaky CL MF ‘ers….

I'm with you Grit Dog. I don't even like listing on CL anymore. It takes more time weeding through the BS purchasers that "want to buy now, give me your bank account so I can transfer the funds" than it's worth sometimes. Fortunately, it seems pretty easy to get through those without being taken...

Those Fusions were pretty good cars. My B.I.L. has one (hybrid) that he will give to his son when he turns 16 later this year. Nice looking car, and he has driven the $h!t out of it with minimal issues thus far.

pros and cons going with 4" rear drop leaf springs and lowering shackles to lower the rear.

Look great, even with the load in the back, the stance is really nice. Good job!
