    HELP! LS1 to SM465 Headers

Thank you for the reply, yev. I got the motor, transmission, and headers installed into their final resting place last night. They fit great! Below the clutch linkage, above the cross member and everything clears. Even the 02’s! I don’t know why anybody would buy anything else, these things are...

    HELP! LS1 to SM465 Headers

Thanks for the response Nicholson. I got the motor set close to in place, and it looks like they might clear. It’s definitely going to be close. Good point with the hydraulic slave cylinder. Did you use a conversion kit, or farm fab it?

    HELP! LS1 to SM465 Headers

I stand corrected. The LT1’s are truck model years 2014+

    HELP! LS1 to SM465 Headers

The motor is out of a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, so I believe that it would be an LT1. The LT1 is the truck version of the LS1. I could be mistaken though. The truck I’m converting is a 1980 K20 with an SM465. I’m concerned that the driver side header is going to hit the clutch linkage...

    HELP! LS1 to SM465 Headers

I recently bought a pair of the Speed Engineering 1-7/8” Long Tube, Part #25-1026. They’re for LS based heads, with more of a round inlet. I’m pretty sure I need the Part# 25-1028, for LT based heads. The description on their website says “not compatible with 4WD”. I’ve seen multiple people...

    Another 5.3 Question!

I’ve been reading, doing research and have a lead on a good running 2001 5.3L. It’s from a personal friend and I know he maintains his vehicles well. It’s going into a 1980 K20 my kid and I are building. The truck is lifted 8” with 37’s. Aside from that the truck is completely stock. The main...

    Extended Emergency/Parking Brake Cable

Are those longer than the factory ones? I was looking to fab something, but anywhere I put them it seems to be short. If I had to guess, they’re about 10” short.

    Extended Emergency/Parking Brake Cable

Does anyone know where to buy extended e-brake cables? I’m looking for the two pieces that connect to the rear backing plates. I installed a 6” Rough County lift, on my 1980 K20 and this was an oversight! It has a Corporate 14 bolt full floating axel and the drums do not slide off. It’s a 4spd...

    6” Rough Country

Just a follow up, the top of cab ended up being 7’-2”. That’s 6” Rough Country, with 37’s. I was going to do an add a leaf, but chose to do front and rear springs. Other than a few loose ends to finish, it’s turning out really nice! Thank you everyone for the input

    6” Rough Country

I was planning to extend the drive lines and brake lines, but I’m going to look into the cross member. Thank you very much for the input

    6” Rough Country

    Thanks, Charlie!

    6” Rough Country

Thanks man! It’s a 1980 K20, that’s completely stock. Rough Country’s website says the kit has 6” front springs and 2” rear blocks. I’m just trying to get an idea of how tall it’s actually going to be. My kid and I are starting to build it, and I don’t want it to be obscenely tall. 7’5” would...

    6” Rough Country

I’m going to order a 6” Rough Country lift, and plan to run 36’s. The wheels are stock 16x8. I was wondering if anybody with the same configuration could measure the top of their cab?
