OK, if you have an old parts store in town just drop by and see what they have in stock. Costs you nothing but your time. The radiator in my 72 Chevelle started to give me problems. I called the local parts store that had been around forever and they had a brand new, heavy duty radiator in stock...
Hey folks,
any experience with new dash bezels? Mine seems to be crumbling every time I touch it.
84 C10 that has been baking in the SC heat since delivery.
TIA!
I wasn't sure where to post this so I will post it here :)
I have an 84 C10. My buddy pulled a nice dash cluster from what he thinks was an 87. It is in better condition than mine and looks the same as mine except it has a clock. Will this fit my truck and what do I need to do to install it? Do...
As I get older I find there are more things that getting harder to do. Finding a good shop is a necessity. Even simple stuff like crawling under the truck to change the oil isn't easy anymore.
As for "no rush", I just ask the shop when they can have it ready. If it goes 24 hours past the time I...
I paid $6300 for my 84 in 2019. Chased this truck for a while. It seems that every time I was supposed to go look at it we had to evacuate for a hurricane. I had the front end rebuilt, new TH350, dash pad and stereo. Also added a tilt column and aftermarket steering wheel.
Good morning folks,
the th350 on my 84 C10 is leaking from the dipstick tube. After a close look it does not have the tab that keeps the tube from moving around and it wobbles when the truck is running. I found this one at Rock Auto...
I had the Chevelle for 21 years and sold it 3 years ago, bought my 84 square with the profits :)
I didn't get a response on the other website so I posted here. Thanks to everyone for your help,
Kevin
84 C10 with a TH350, tilt column, column shift. I was swapping out my shifter and lost the spring in the column. I have one to replace it but will it cause any problems if I leave it in there? Will it eventually fall out?
TIA,
Kevin D
Slowest car I ever drove was a 73 Dodge Dart with a smogged up 225. I think it would take a steep down hill to hit 50 with my foot on the floor. Absolutely hated that car.
Like any other business there are good and bad. Over the years I have found both. I try to use local mechanics with a good rep for stuff I can't do. When I bought my square I took it to the alignment guy I know to get checked out. He told me what was crap and needed to be replaced and what not...

I went with USA 1 Industries and absolutely love it.

Only problem I had was the dash clips they sent didn't go onto the pad. I just used the ones from the old pad and it went right in.
Installed one from USA1 in my 84 in June. Fit was great. Only problem was that it arrived without the clips installed. we couldn't get the ones provided to fit so we just took the old ones out and reused them.
