Leaf pack sliding back and forth

When I turn the steering wheel the driver side top leaf will "pop" left or right. Causing a substantial noise and noticable pop feeling that transfers to the steering wheel. As you can see the forward clamp appears to be not wrapped around the pack like the passenger side is. How do I fix...

Steering wheel not returning to center

I have the steering pump adjusted all the way out and there's still slack. So I'm researching if the wrong belt is on there from PO. I did all the work to steering components. Took out some, what appears to be the caster sleeve on the passenger side. The new ball joints came with different...

Steering wheel not returning to center

I deffinitly have pump issues. I replaced it with a reman from O'Reilly but when the truck is stopped and turning the wheel is difficult. Very very jerky. But when moving at 5 mph + it seems to be fine. Just dont turn the wheel too fast or it jerks. My belt seems to be loose. There's a lot...

Steering wheel not returning to center

So I've been doing all kinds of steering mods and upgrades. Basically everything hes been replaced. The issue I have now is the steering does not return to center when a turn is made. No matter the degree made. I can turn 10, 20, 45 degrees and if I let go of the wheel it will stay in that...

    73 up 2x4 pitman arm

Anyone know the specifics on the pitman arm lock washer and nut? My new Red Head steering box didn't come with a washer or nut for the pitman arm. I'm replacing my 4x4 box so I dont have it on my old box Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

    Loosing steering!!

I've taken it to two "off road" shops. Both tell me there is only toe adjustment. No caster adjustment. 76 K5 4x4 solid axle Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

    Loosing steering!!

Two alignment shops later and same issue. One guy said it was due to my draglink. What do you think? I'm running and adjustable "s" type draglink and a 4" raise steering arm. Is this overkill and throwing my geometry off?? Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

    Loosing steering!!

Seems solid from the steering wheel to shaft to steering box input and output. The problem I see is that the amount of turn I have to give the steering wheel is way too much to make the steering box turn the drag link. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

Yeah. The tool won't get it off. It started to pull the ring off the pulley as you see in the picture. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

    Loosing steering!!

Heres part of the instructions that came with the reman. Talks about lining up the yellow Mark's, but there were no yellow Mark's, so I assumed the box was centered right out of the box. Also talks about having excessive play if the Mark's are not lined up. Which I feel like I'm experiencing...

    Loosing steering!!

Everything I've read about adjusting the box, it's usually at its end of life and people try to get a bit more out of it. Like you said, the reman box should be good to go. I'm hesitant on making the adjustment in case I need to send it back. I'm going to call them tomorrow and see what they...

    Loosing steering!!

The issue with that is if I would have taken it somewhere, all they'd tell me is Ithey need to replace all the parts I've replace so far and charged me for thier up charge for parts and labor. Now I need to replace the pump because that's the first thing they will accuse. I do agree on the...

    Loosing steering!!

The only part I have not replaced is the power steering. Its leaking bad and whines when turned all the way. It also "binds" if you turn the wheel too fast. I'm hoping this is the culprit. Its literally the last piece of the puzzle. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
