Hard time finding the correct carrier bearing from local parts house.

It is on and a good fit. Even though it fell over after I got the last cover on and knocked metal housing loose from the rubber. Now to get it on the truck this evening before the rain comes in.

Where’s the C60 tach with fuel gauge installed into c10-30 threads?

Saw in some searches in the past where people have taken the tach with a fuel gauge out of the c50 or c60 trucks and replaced their fuel gauge with it. Found a C60 from the late 70s maybe early 80s at one of my farmers bone yards by his airstrip. Thought I might get some more info on what it...

Oriley’s finally got my bearing in and the HB88107E is the correct one measuring everything in the store. I’ll remeasure everything and take pictures tonight incase anyone in the future runs into the same problem I did and needs the measurements of this one to compare with their’s.

How is everyone making their wiring look not a mess under the hood.?

Surprised I haven’t gotten any kind of alert showing anyone had posted in this thread. Lots of good info and pictures. Whenever I get to actually cleaning up the wiring I’ll post a picture whether it turns out good or not.

    Help with Windshield Wiper Blades

Most have an adapter in the box to go from the J hook to that type. There’s usually instructions in the box on which adapter and how to make it work.

No brakes and unable to get one side to bleed

Quick update, (since nobody ever updates with their solution)pressing the brake instead of trying to gravity bleed seems to have done the trick. Haven’t drove it to know for sure since the drive shaft is out. So I don’t know for sure if I have brakes though, but I have fluid out the bleeder...

Hard time finding the correct carrier bearing from local parts house.

Know what you mean, I’m not far from Peason Ridge where they filmed Tiger Valley and Fort Polk now Johnson does their training. Last few years they have either upped their game on the explosion simulator or a lot has been clear cut for sound to travel. Used to only hear stuff off in the...

Hard time finding the correct carrier bearing from local parts house.

I’m in Natchitoches Parish It looks identical to the HB881107a which was exact size but not the right covers Napa had it, but couldn’t find anything on the E version. Attaching a picture of the one ordered. Assuming you’re talking about the one that has the round housing with the bracket part...

Hard time finding the correct carrier bearing from local parts house.

Napa wasn’t much of a help, but went back to Orileys after a friend said to talk to a guy that only works there in the morning time. We got a HB881107E coming and will be in Tuesday. Computer shows it being for a 66 c30. What info that was available on it looks like it will be the right one...

Hard time finding the correct carrier bearing from local parts house.

Did a lot of looking around last night because I couldn’t sleep for the thunder shaking the house. I believe that is the right number but an E instead of an A. Found several on eBay that the HB881107E has 3 covers/slingers but I can’t find the ID of the slingers.

Hard time finding the correct carrier bearing from local parts house.

All the the swing bearings I’ve ever changed have been on big trucks and just went straight through without these covers/slingers. This particular truck means a lot to me and I’m not going to just put something on because it should work. My grandfather wouldn’t do it and I’m not going to do it...

Hard time finding the correct carrier bearing from local parts house.

May have to put aside my dislike of my local Napa and go see if they can find it and how bad they will put the screws to me.

Hard time finding the correct carrier bearing from local parts house.

The HB88107a would fit the step down piece and the ring take up the 1/4 inch that was left after the bearing seated all the way. On the old one the dust cover would take up that bit and the 2 piece cover for the other side would seat on the bigger step. Believe the HB88107a was the same as one...

That spacer will take up the gap the cover facing the rear end would fit on. I may have to just go that route and just not be anything on the piece the rear cover fit on. Just doesn’t seem correct to me but I tend to be very picky about things.

Hard time finding the correct carrier bearing from local parts house.

Truck in question is a 1980 C20 with 454 and Muncie 465 out of a 73 c20 camper special. Drive shaft and rear end are supposed to be the original with the truck that had a 350 and automatic transmission. Bearing ID 1.378 Center to center of mounting holes was 6 5/8 inch So as the title says...

No brakes and unable to get one side to bleed

So when I decided to go for a spin yesterday I quickly noticed I didn’t have any brakes. Didn’t see any leaks and front and back of the reservoir had fluid. Rear wasn’t all the way to the top. Along with the rear rubber piece of the lids gasket being extended all the way out. Decided to...

How is everyone making their wiring look not a mess under the hood.?

Been tracing wires as to figure out what is what on my grandfather’s old 80 c20. Along with trying to figure where I’m going to mount relays and run wiring when I upgrade the headlights. Some of the wiring is in factory loom some is just all over the place. Been able to figure out a lot of the...

Gauge Cluster Teardown and Rebuild - Beware, Pic Heavy!

Great thread with lots of information I needed since my speedometer needle broke into several pieces and in the process of cleaning up my cluster. Not sure if it’ll work for everyone but I buffed the gauge areas on the clear panel with flitz and it cleared those areas up big time for me.
