Been working away wire cup wheeling the frame, disassembly of front steering, suspension and prepping frame for some industrial rustoleum semi gloss, during the week putting the top end of a Liebherr Straight six and hanging out with the family on the back patio. -

Just a bunch of Weekend Warrior projects lately- drove 160mi to pick up a unopened TH400 Monster in a box transmission shift kit, mounted the vintage air box assembly and started to flush off some of the welds on the shaved firewall, only problem now is Summer is coming and it’ll be a struggle... -

Outer Roof panel primed, sound deadened both to replace what was there originally and have a touch of sound proofing, the AMD panel pretty well set it self in place with the odd tweak and spot welded solid along the front and side edges, just going to spend some time with the back edge welding... -
Vortec 8100/8.1L Oil Pan
I went through this today on a modine egr / coolant cooler assembly today, was “told” not the weld a washer and then a nut to a broken stud (word like a hot damn) bossman, not a mechanic by title tells me that focused heat into a small area like that could lead to spider cracking of the cast... -

I was also along the same line of thinking of definitely paint and kilmating enough to build up what was there to, maybe leaving the centre open, put a bit of wax in the low spots, air gap / flow is a good point but with the air you get sound to some respect, curious what factory’s thoughts were...- Tank6x2
