Yes, the lower ball joint slides into a pocket of sorts in there. Your carbide burr idea may be a good one. I'll keep that in mind as I conitnue to work through this thing. I'm going to attack it again as soon as I get home tonight and I'm not finishing until the truck is back together tonight...- Old77

Yeah, I only went this route on the uppers cuz the ball joints came with the truck. I told myself that if today I didn’t get the uppers done I was buying an upper arm tomorrow and moving on. Just didn’t want to spend the extra $150. I REALLY wish they made loaded lower arms for these K1500s...- Old77

Upper ball joint finally in!!! Universe finally let me make progress on that fourth hole Now waiting on batteries to charge so I can do one more round of drilling on 3 of the 4 holes for the lower ball joints! Very good info! Thank you, Spencer! I'll definitely check it out regardless of the outcome of this project. I don't normally do a lot of drilling but when I do I constantly fight it because my drill bits are garbage and don't stay sharp for very long no matter what kind or how much cutting fluid...- Old77

Yesterday I got some Dewalt Carbide bits and they worked pretty well in the lower ball joints. Or at least better than my other bits were. I could definitely stand to have an actual good set of drill bits. I think that definitely bit me in the beginning. And I might have to go down the Carbide...- Old77

Worked another 4 hours on them today. The upper is all but ready to install with the exception of one hole. Well, here she is for now. Overall, I’m very happy with the results. I didn’t realize until I started fitting up the patch piece that there was also a dent in the body line.
