    83 k10

Just read this on another forum, so I seem to remember correctly about using the different engine mount holes on the stands. "The engine MOUNTS are different, but the STANDS are the same (as Chris said). The stands have to sets of holes, labeled "6" and "8", pretty self explainatory right?" Oh...

    83 k10

No worries Chazlee, there are quiet a few of these swaps detailed online, either here or via google, even youtube. Dependent of which engine stands are fitted, there maybe be 2 sets of motor mount holes on the stands, but I cant remember which set of holes you use for a SBC 350. They maybe...

    83 k10

Welcome Chazlee. Is the 4.1 the original L6, 250ci? If so then the SBC V8 engine should bolt up with no modifications to the 250 6 cyl frame stands, but not the 292CI L6 4.9lt. The 292ci frame stands are different on the passenger side. The clutch Z bar will line up with a hole in the block...

Will my 12" clutch fit on the stock flywheel?

whow, didnt know that! That would be a BIG clutch. Yeah I couldnt find the part number for the tin, but I came across this bell for $100, so I had to get it. It would be nice to have the cast iron back on though. This is my set up, the measurements maybe useful to you.

Will my 12" clutch fit on the stock flywheel?

hi Eborges19 I put a 12" clutch on my sm465 behind my 454. Ive got the 168 tooth flywheel, I know its different on a BB to an SB, but I had to change my bellhouse to a 460486 to accomodate the 12" clutch. I used to have a 292 L6, in the truck ( long gone), which had the stock 11" clutch in it...

    Z Bar issues SM465 - 350 - NP208

Hi, I will give my 5c worth. I have pulled the z bar system off my 76 C20 with a sm465. The z bar on mine, at the tranny, had one side pivot bolted into the bellhouse, not engine block. The other side was the frame bracket. My frame bracket was worn out as the pivot bolt on that side had come...

    1985 Monte Carlo SS

Love this SS Crispy. Had to sell mine for my square project. Mine was an 84 SS, with a crate 350 and 4l60 hydromatic, plugged right in so I had overdrive with the factory torque coverter lockup. 2200 at 65mph, much better than 3000 with my MV4 th350! Loads of fun!

    Need help identify my BB

If you are ever looking at getting a 454 LE8, have a look for a motorhome thats being wrecked. Thats where I got my 30000 mile BB, all original for no money really. Good compression and bores. If you use your heads they will flow better than the peanut ports on the LE8 for sure. I want low down...

Yeah the 70-72 402ci truck engine sounds like a match to me, with those heads in the same years. Doesnt seem to be an LE8, I have one, I put in my C20, it has a casting number 14015445 Big Block V8 1978-1990 454, 2 bolt or 4 bolt mains. I lucked in on a 4 bolt! Good Luck.

    Bed to cab gap????

I found this site with measurements, it may help a bit. This Fleetside body shows (measurement "N") 1.93" gap between the box and the Cab, measured through the center line of the truck. http://brochures.slosh.com/dimensions/

    Need help identify my BB

BigRod Hey at least there is one mystery solved, its a 454 MKiv LE8. So that explains the 454 head codes. But the block casting number doesnt match. Replaced? Right so my book says that an LE8 is a 86-89 454 with 240 net HP, low deck truck engine only with 2 or 4 bolt mains, small oval port...

hey Bigrod84. You said you got some cool RPO codes. do you have a photo of them, the glove box one, or if you are lucky the one under the bench seat? I was looking in my Chevy Big-Block book, and the 402 shows as LS3, L34 or L78 for a 1970 truck codes, I know yours is later but just wondered...
