    Th350c lock up wiring

Same wiring as on my old 84 Monte ss I used to have. I pulled out my 350c and stuck a 700r4 and that plugged straight in worked a treat, and got overdrive. I would definitely use a switch so you have control of the converter lock up. Also I would get power from the brake light switch ( if you...

    2wd SM465 Crossmember

Yeah, I have the one that's sitting on your tailgate The are two other brackets that bolt on, one each side, as in this photo, more strength to support the chassis, off the top and bottom of the rails. No filing of holes needed, this was the one that came with my truck with a stock sm465...

    Hydroboost

Actually, I will let this one go. I need to do a bit more research. Thanks anyway, if I had a C10 I would be upgrading to this unit for sure.

    Hydroboost

Looking into it a bit more. Are your brakes JD5, JD6? This will be going on my C20, so it might work, but mine are JB7 power brakes, with a hydroboost unit it's a JD7, for me.

    Hydroboost

Do you have the bracket between the boost unit and the cab? Or is this a non bracket install. Oh and the dust boot? I'm interested if you do have these parts as well.

    Help with Drum Brakes

I agree with Rusty, for a C20 3/4 ton 14BFF. My backing plate dia' is about 14.25". I have not taken the rear wheel off to measure the outer drum dia' but it is stamped that the inside dia' for service life of the brakes is 13.09" max. I know the shoes to order are for 13 x 2.5" brakes (JB7).

    Help with Drum Brakes

Always good to have a plan. The most common seems to be 4.10 ratio. All depends what you want as the axle ratio. 3.21, 3.42, 3.73, 4.10, etc. Happy hunting.

    Spindle won’t budge

Just a thought thats all, hope it helps your problem. To get the drag link in the right area. I disconnected the pitman arm and made sure that with no load on the drag link ( I supported the end near the pitman arm with my hand) that it would move freely, and would be at the correct position...

    Spindle won’t budge

Did you replace the idle arm and pitman arm also? If you did they maybe out of alignment a bit causing the ball joints on the idler pitman to binde, as they dont pivot like a tie rod end. I had this problem when I converted to power steering. To solve the tightness in the drag link assembly i...

SM465 to auto conversion or something else?

Welcome gtojohnny. I have settled on the same setup you have. 454 with an sm465. I looked into a 4l80e swap but at around 6k to do the changes I just rebuilt my 465, for a few hundred bucks, which included new anti hop out 3rd (2nd) gear, syncros bearings and gaskets. A 700r4 wont last behind a...

    Help with Drum Brakes

Hi Jaxson. I rebuilt my 14 bolt ff rear on my 76 C20. I will have to measure the dia' of the back plate. But yours look different to mine, I have 13 x 2.5 in brakes.

Swapping from 14B semi-float to 14B full float

Yep i understand your thinking. I too had dual tanks on a previous square i had in Canada. I was able to go down and back up Vancouver island with out refueling. The reasons for THIS rear tank was, as the truck will be empty most of the time 31 gals of gas is always better over the rear axle...

Where does this hose hook up to?

Maybe its connected to the th400 modulator, and was disconnected from the vacuum source on the inlet manifold? I never have played with a later squares nothing after 81, but do the heater controls, control vacuum motors/diaphrams for vent/heater outlets, if yes it may well be the control source...

    83 k10

Chazlee, stay the course mate, just keep looking for another 350. I had a 4.3 in my 2002 Blazer, and it was heavier on gas than my Monte Carlo with a crate 350. Of course the Monte had plenty of power, couldnt say that for my Blazer! Did the junk yard let you keep the parts? If so think of it...
