Ultra rare collectible square body trucks?

The cars you listed, are both rare, and desirable. So with that said, most trucks are not both rare and desirable. Mainly because they were mass produced, and most people lump them all together anyway. And most don't have truly special engines or parts. Mostly they are trim packages. So i...

Cut steel on a regular basis? Or at all?

Carbide is pretty brittle stuff. It can't take a hard hit. I try to creep into my cut as mush as possible and keep slow, steady pressure on the tool. If it hits, or bounces, it will probably chip, and if it chips, it's done.

Easiest place to check for power in cab?

It was converted from a 3 on the tree at some point. I just ran a 10ga jumper from the bulkhead input part of the fuseblock to the ignition switch feed part of the fuseblock. It seems to function correctly now, although I'm not sure what I bypassed. My harness is pretty butchered inside,I'll...

Easiest place to check for power in cab?

With the switch on. My intention, and understanding is, that I feed 12v into the cab via the upper left. With the ignition switch forward I should get 12v back out from the missing pink wire. If I'm correct. So if I'm correct, then I would suspect the ignition switch as well. To verify that...

Easiest place to check for power in cab?

I'm actually attempting to wire my truck correctly this year, and I've hit a bit of a snag. Trying to start simple, because I'm simple lol. So power applied to the upper left wire in this pic, should result in 12v out on the missing wire in the pic correct? It's my understanding that the upper...

some 4/6 drop wheel help (yea i know)

I'm not far enough to look seriously yet, but I'm not personally shy of clearanci the control arm a bit. I have a full set of stock steelies as of today I intend to use, which is going to limit my tire size a bit, I can live with that.

Cut steel on a regular basis? Or at all?

Yes, I use them in my sawzall as well as circular saw, the Diablo stuff is amazing. I was really skeptical at first, they are quite expensive. But holy crap do they change your life.

    Your nightmare stories

Well, crap aside... I have a horror story. Once upon a time, there was a wee little J.R. He was only 25, but he loved his squarebodies. J.R. had owned a 87 k10 for about 5 years. It was a basic, but decent truck. Longbed, 4" lift, 4.56 gears, Detroit rear locker, Goodwrench 350 and a Truck...

1/8" is the standard distance to look for on converter gap.

Took the transmission completely apart to open up some end play.

A small jack under the oil pan helps tilt the engine to line up with the trans easier. Don't give in to the temptation to run the bellhousing bolts in with an impact until you're certain you have the proper clearance to your converter, many a transmission pump has been ruined that way.
