    Wanders All Over the Road

Agree with the tires, had a set last year that caused similar issue, they started de-lamming inside so had no clue till I took them off the rims.

1980 Chevy K30 Scottsdale value in POS condition

Went and checked it out last night. Bone stock factory K30 SRW, 14 bolt FF, Dana 60, TH400, 5.7 with a broken timing chain. Some old farmer in his 90's had it, so not a thing he couldn't hit by the look of the body, cab is mostly good, just needs small cab corners replaced. Ended up buying it...

1980 Chevy K30 Scottsdale value in POS condition

Funny you mention that, seems like around here a lot of projects get started where they go out and by parts without a solid plan. Can find lots of 14 bolt FF and even some dana 60's that they started butchering all the brackets off and welding braces before they find out it doesn't work with...

1980 Chevy K30 Scottsdale value in POS condition

I'd say your lucky to live in your area based on parts prices, lol. In NE Washington these are in huge demand by the 'Yota/Jeep crowd and mud boggers for their rigs, don't even ask about 2.5 rockwells...cost more than the truck by far.

1980 Chevy K30 Scottsdale value in POS condition

So this is weird, just talked to the guy and he claims the truck was originally a C30, not saying it can't be done, but that's a heck of a lot of modifying to make it what I see in the pictures. Guy doesn't even know if it's a th350 or th400, just that it worked good and the motor blew up, 350...

Lol, have to agree with you there. I lucked out in the past and got a set of 2.08 230cc iron eagle blemish heads from them and honestly never even found what the blem was.

Only problem I've had with no name in the past has been clearances on the shaft bushings were a bit sloppy.

New to Square body.. electrical nightmare...

Welcome! When I got my 86, it was a PO wiring nightmare too. Easiest way to sort it out was disconnect the battery and started under the dash removing all the added in, wire nutted, cross jumpered crap and chucking it into a big rats nest next to the truck, kept at it until was down to just the...

1980 Chevy K30 Scottsdale value in POS condition

Only reason I'm even considering it is been trying to find a set of axles, 14 bolt FF and dana 60 front single tire both, and closest I've found around here lately is $1200 a set. Around here means 150 mile radius for me, not willing to drive farther. All this because my 82 plow truck is a total...

1980 Chevy K30 Scottsdale value in POS condition

I've been trying to figure out what the ultimate plow truck would be for me, so started looking for parts. I found a 1980 K30 Scottsdale single tire that I'm going to go look at, just curious what people think the average price on this might be. Only info I have at the moment is body is beat...

    Worn out 250 Straight 6

I would attempt a leak down test on the cylinders first to see if rings actually wore out. Could be it's just sucking oil by the valve stem seals since it's original. If it is, then you just need the air pressure fitting and the spring compressor tool and change the seals without removing the head.

Show me your 8 lug wheels!

Here is what I found for my 86 almost 2 years ago, Ansen 17x9's with 37's . Damn, time is ticking by!

    Sweet Porsche for sale

I've had a 924, 924s, 944 and a 928. The best looking was the 944, 928 was definitely quick for what it was, the 924 was actually the most fun to drive though, wasn't very fast, but could just carve through the corners at high speed. All of them were electrical nightmares, smoked a harness in...

    Old Tractors

Found a place that sold seal kitsch and bought a full kit for every cylinder on it , even steering cylinder, for $500 something last year. Rebuilt 2 cylinders so far, need to do the main boom next, easiest way is dig deep as hole and drop the boom as far down as it will go so you can pull the...

    Old Tractors

Not really old and sort of a tractor, my 86 JCB 1550b extradig. I work the hell out of it, just set a water tank today. Has a little perkins turbo diesel with a shuttle shift tranny, wish it was the 4x4 version though. Being British sort of sucks, very hard to find parts for it , finally got an...

First Time Stroker Build Requesting Help!

Running a holley ultra street avenger 770 vac advance, electric choke, 4 corner idle on my 383, really like it for my combo. The vent tubes are a little short for offroad, so made a custom connecting tube and drilled some holes in the top, never had any issues with it. Don't cheap out on the...

    Looking to buy... But it's a 72

Just for example, here is a '67 that is a shortened long bed. IMHO, that truck is worth the money because of the attention to detail...all except the tach on the column. Should of mounted in the center factory position, real easy to do and looks stock if done right...

    Looking to buy... But it's a 72

Bottom line, if that truck really tickles your fancy, buy it after dickering on price. As long as when you leave with the truck both you and the seller think you got the shaft, odds are you did okay. ;)

    Looking to buy... But it's a 72

Not a lot of suspension travel in the back, frame looks stock, don't see a C notch. Sounds decent, I would probably go no higher than $7.5k...just my opinion.

    Looking to buy... But it's a 72

Sounds like a lot of work was done on it, just curious if it is coils or leaf in the rear. Average price of that body style here in project form is at least $4k, haven't seen a short box in a long time though, last short box I had was a 71 C10 back in '93, so no clue what one would run now.

    HIGH BEAM/LOW BEAM SWITCH

If it is tilt, the knuckle being loose will affect the high/low switch. Did that in my s-10 blazer, had to tear the column down and rebuild the knuckle it was so bad.

    HIGH BEAM/LOW BEAM SWITCH

Another quick question, is it tilt steering or straight column?
