I have been slowly making a little progress on the bike. New bearings in the swingarm and linkage, frame getting cleaned up for paint, new crank and piston with the cylinder at the machine shop. This is going to be a new bike when/if we ever get finished.- TravisB

It was running poorly and parked for a decade or more before I got it. They had no idea what was wrong with it so I thought I would take things apart and see what I could see. I haven't found anything crippling except the oil pickup wasn't in the oil pump and was stuck to the bottom of the pan... -

Found a friend to patch my case, but the repair needs attention. The fix was too big and will be hit by the chain and sprocket but we are on the right track to getting back on two wheels.- TravisB

Really digging the banshee. I have had two of those and loved them. It wouldn't take a lot of work to sell me another lol I had an 86 lt250r that was a pretty quick machine but I think the 87 was pretty different. Mine was wore completely out. I will see if I can find an old photo of that...- TravisB

My friend that was willing to look at welding this has told me she didn't think she could get it done without it leaking. :( Still on the hunt for someone who might be able to weld it and chasing a lead on a side case in Mississippi that might work. Oh, it also needs brake pads. SMH. With the side cover off and the jb weld knocked off. The way that clutch actuator moves behind the broken hole is going to make this repair a tricky one I am afraid. Cross your fingers I can get it fixed. If not, I may have some bike parts for sale.- TravisB

Picked up a bike the other day thinking I might have a cheap toy but my excitement about getting a new bike may have bit me this time. Header Paint?
I thought about that but someone on here said they would cause the headers to rust. Something about the heat and cooling trapping moisture etc. It made enough sense that I've almost dismissed the idea.- TravisB

Anyone have any words of experience on painting a set of headers? I picked up a pair of rusty truck headers and want to paint them before putting them to use. I put the steering box and tie rods back on my frame. Started sourcing some stuff to start sorting the engine out. Picked up a set of headers and a holley street avenger yesterday. -

The drill I had was so early the battery wasn't removable. I used it once and the charger port corroded and I couldn't charge it again. Bought corded tools from that day forward. The heads are not the same so beware there. You can use 400 heads on a 350 but you cannot put 350 heads (in stock form) on a 400. The 400 has additional oil passages that can be drilled by a machine shop into other sbc heads. The pattern is the same but you will be unhappy soon after swapping...- TravisB

LS Fest Anyone?
I had a blast, met @Johnny Mac at the BluePrint engine tent, saw Tony Angelo and the twinpala, saw Cleetus McFarland and LeeRoy, and my youngest daughter had a good time too so it was totally worth the day. Brian Lohnes did all the track announcing too just like on TV. You guys should check it... -

I snagged these for reference on some sanitary installs. One with what looks like the OEM harness and computer. These couple are from a cool Scout that this guy was selling to fund the build of a garage to do more of this work. That is a scout body on a new Rubicon frame and an LS swap...
