No fuel in carb at start up

The epoxy would work, but it wasn’t a long term fix, eventually it would fail also. There used to be replacement plug kits that had o-rings that replace the originals. It’s been decades since I’ve worked on a Qjet though they may not be available any more.

No fuel in carb at start up

Is it a Quadrajet carb? If so the well plugs need to be sealed. I haven’t done it in many years but we used to epoxy them.

    How about Steve’s Blazer

Saw this today, probably a cool piece. My best friend is heavily involved with the Mecum auction scene, I’ve been to a couple with him it’s a blast. https://robbreport.com/motors/cars/steve-mcqueen-1970-chevrolet-k5-blazer-auction-1235572434/

    Seat recovering

I’ve got a bench seat to recover in my truck, it’s been recovered previously and who knows what’s under there. I’ve done upholstery many times when I was younger. I don’t look forward to it now, really tough on the hands.

    Wing Windows

I’m undecided on a plan of attack for these two yet… If I do them myself I’ll have the frames powder coated black where I work. A price quote from Precision soon.

King ranch seat in the sqaurebody.

I remember the first run of Ford Super Duty King Ranch models many years ago. Those seats were the most comfortable leather seats I’d ever sat in. The leather was like an old baseball glove, soft & smooth.

New Tires, What should I do for wheels?

I just got the Vision brand from Summit. 17x9 at $92 each. I went with a tire slightly taller than 33”. They also offer the Blackrock brand but they’re more expensive. Both are available in many sizes and offsets.

    Factory A/C Conversion for '86

I‘ve restored a couple of ‘69 year cars with factory AC in the past, those systems involved a POA valve. Putting them back factory was very expensive and the end results weren’t very impressive in my opinion. I’m restoring a ‘78 truck with factory AC, the compressor and lines were removed...

Have i decoded this VIN correctly????

Yes, you are right, I was incorrect. I looked at the frame today, its stamped twice on the top passenger side rail, about two feet apart along the fuel tank area.

Have i decoded this VIN correctly????

Im in the process of a complete resto on my ‘78. It definitely has the VIN on top and the side of one of the frame rails.

Have i decoded this VIN correctly????

The VIN is stamped on the top of the frame, but I don’t believe you can readily see it with the cab & fuel tanks installed.

I just put an Eaton TruTrac diff in my front 10 bolt… In my opinion it’s the best choice for the type of driving my truck will be used for.
