    Bumper Jack Mounting

I had mine mounted in the bed, pretty good spot if your truck is lifted or has a tonneau so no one can see it. I had a single bit axe mounted over the other fenderwell for a while too.

    Lowering a 4x4??? I don't get it!!!

Stock or lower is gaining appeal for me the older I get. Something that's driven primarily on the road, and a lot, you want it to ride well which is why I haven't done anything to my 02 Sierra's suspension/tire size. I junked the tilt column in the mud truck using it to pull me up in that tall...

14 bolt 10.5" rear disc conversion

That's a great price. I bought the brackets Offroad Design makes, they're heavy-duty but expensive, and that's all you get. (http://www.offroaddesign.com/catalog/14FFdisckit.htm) Brackets, spacers and mounting bolts. Had to buy calipers which I got K10 fronts but I hear K20 fronts have bigger...

    got a square body!!!!!!!! s10

Man that sux. If you got something you can transfer the license plate to, you might keep from losing money on that. Black plugs meant it was running rich which is the sign of stopped up idle circuit. Tightening the idle air screws down and not hearing any draw-down in idle is more proof the idle...

    got a square body!!!!!!!! s10

Screw the air screws all the way in (not tight, just till they stop) then out 2-1/4 to 2-1/2 turns. That's a good place to start. You got your timing dialed down but it might need 12 degrees instead of 8. Might want to check the plugs and make sure they're burning clean.

    got a square body!!!!!!!! s10

You can take the 2 little covers off the metering rods and pull them out, and if you got a little tubing that will go on your air gun put pressure on those primaries to blow them out. If you have rubber fuel lines the ethanol is eating it up and little bits are going in the carb. You can...

    Cruising Under Stall RPM- TH350

If you got a dial indicator with a stand, caliper micrometer, high-torque impact, access to a press and a shit-ton of patience you can set up gears. There's a couple writeups here on the forum about it.

Make sure you got a good fuel filter on your fuel line, when the idle air circuit clogs on edelbrocks they show all the signs you mention. You can remove the idle air screws and springs and put compressed air on the ports to unclog them.

    3" vs 2.5" exhaust ANSWER!

I think I watched 4 hours straight of engine masters when I first discovered their show. A lot of solid info on there for squeezing power out of your powerplant.

    Vortec Head Retrofit Question

Be sure to use red loc-tite on the pinion nut. Also make sure the pinion isn't grooved where the seal rides. First time out with the new axle you may want to put a pillow between the back glass and your head lol. When I went 5.13s from 3.73s (38" tires) the difference was unbelievable.

Rattle in oil pan below 700rpms

Start it up cold and spray a squirt bottle of water on the header tubes/manifolds close to the heads. It will sizzle off quickly from the cylinders that are running and linger on dead cylinders.

Rattle in oil pan below 700rpms

Start with the easy. Get the tires balanced. The direct drive can make something like that more noticeable where some converter slip can mask a lot. Just read a thread elsewhere that mentioned a miss in the engine being accentuated by the lockup. Once an injector was replaced it went away. Edit...

For the bad vibes, check the balancer in case someone put a jack under it. It could also be the torque converter. If the fluid was ever dark it could have clutch material inside it settled in one spot and throwing it out of balance. It's definitely not the driveshaft if it did it parked.

    Ford Trash Talk Thread lol

I work in an office environment now and most people know I'm a jack of all trades and ask me mechanical questions, construction questions, etc. One guy was telling me about his ford running bad and I told him well, fortunately Advance Adapters has an adapter to put a Chevy engine in just about...

whats the trick for better ride?

Throw three hundred pounds worth of sandbags in the bed up close to the cab. It'll ride like a Cadillac. The longer 56" 3/4 ton rear springs help them ride a little better out back too. If it has a rear block you could do a shackle flip and 56" springs and help the back. The front is tough...

High Hump Transmission Cover Fit Problem

If you do much fabricating I would use cardboard to cut out a template for a small filler panel and weld it in if it's only showing a gap in one place like that. Otherwise you would have to find a K truck and cut a portion of the floorpan/firewall out to make it work. I did this on mine and...

    Anyone want to guess...

Looks like a 3/4 ton truck they put a dually axle under and some dually bed fenders. The front wheels don't look factory, maybe adapter bud wheels or something? The front is a Dana 44 and I don't think you can buy bud wheel hubs for them.

Fuel delivery issues (Air in fuel line)

If your xfer valve is plastic it could be a crack in an inlet/outlet. First thing I thought was fuel pickup line was hooked to vent or return, like it would run on a full tank but once some gas was ran down it would quit. Ken's post makes sense too.
