    Whitch 3/4 ton axels

Justin, we're not trying to dissuade you, just saying you need to do more research than what is initially apparent. Yes, lots of things will/can interchange on squares. I wanted something I could tow/haul more than the average, plus want something stout enough to beat BIL and his small block...

    Whitch 3/4 ton axels

Axles aren't exactly a drop in replacement across styles. You have the full/semi floating thing just as one instance. To upgrade ½ to ¾ ton axles usually requires you change assemblies as well as some possible modifications concerning spring perch, brake (drum vs disc) and a few other minute...

    Hood

Wow, thats a real deal '80 with the square headlights. 73 - 80 have a different shape than 81 - 87. If you were looking side to side across the two, the front of the earlier hoods is taller than the later model and 81 - 87 has a wedge shape overall. The part where it comes to the cowl is...

I hate the power window and door lock switches

I'm not that far into things yet, so I'm watching to see how it plays out. Not looking forward to the repop horror stories you see out there. What is their failure, intermittent contact, crap feel, or something else? Or just like too many other things, chinesium?

Engine Stalling - Bad EVAP/Charcoal Canister?

Even with the rare disagreements I have with posters from time to time, none of those disagreements were fueled by squares. It's only the stuff related to that P word where problems have happened. You keep doing you Rick, I support your writings on here and appreciate your knowledge base. Lames...

Engine Stalling - Bad EVAP/Charcoal Canister?

Who tf is doing that? I've never felt anything you wrote of a technical nature to be incorrect or lacking. If anything, you've helped fill in where I've forgotten stuff. The occasional spelling errors, meh. Doesn't affect your accuracy.

Replace old pump or keep it?

There was a day when replacing something to reset a parts' life clock are gone, probably forever. Doing a repair twice or even a third time due to $#it parts is getting annoyingly common lately. Too many AH's out there thinking they can make a living selling sub standard parts out of crap...

Is there a way to install a 81-87 bumper on a 73-80 frame

There is. Exactly what the dumb$#it's did to mine before I got it. But mine could be from a 400. Bird$#it weld. I think I would replot holes and bolt it on. I have an appropriate utility bumper in the parts pile for it. The day I feel like being showered in grinder sparks, it will go on. Edit...

    Gonna build a trailer...

Kewl! I did a flatbed conversion to an old boat trailer. Like this It runs considerably more than 60/40. You can see what it gets used for so far. I made it to haul 21' sticks of black pipe and tower sections. Keeping it light ;)

    Did they mess up belts?

I can't speak to a small block, but on a big block they have the AC running off the PS dual V groove with the PS running off the crank/WP in the other. Thusly This is a '79. I can't imagine it's much different on a SB of a similar vintage and options list. I hope this is helpful.

    Gonna build a trailer...

If you have too much weight hanging out back, it's gonna track squirrely. Having had a couple of these pickup conversions, my advice is 60/40 - 60% in front of the trailer axle center line and 40% behind. Even if you could get to 50/50, it still won't track right if more weight is behind the...

What have you done to your square lately??

Redid the roadkill fuel pump situation to one that actually puts fuel into the Q jet, so I can move it around as jobs dictate. Relocated the gas can so now I can actually close the hood. After removing the jack bolts and hardware.

    Jack ideas?

Dang it fellas, I hadn't given any thought to a jack system. The original is long gone, and I have some 20 tonners that I can sacrifice for the cause. Odds are I'll finish this project first and then can spare one for ole Pearl.

    Lowering truck

While you're asking about a one piece shaft I assume, half ton application, I found a static 3/4 kit listed for my c20 and I can't imagine it will matter to the short half shaft hanging out past the carrier bearing. But I don't know for certain, yet.

    help with c20 drop..

Don't know if this will help you mate, or if you will even see it, but I ran across a link in another thread that addresses the issue. It gives you the choice between bolt on or clip on in the fine tuning part of ordering. Hope it helps Sean. https://switchsuspension.com/product-result/

    Finding Serpentine Belt Lengths

I would measure with the tensioner in the mid range and go with the closest sized belt available. That way you have some range to work with that would hopefully keep adequate tension.

Is this the camper wiring on my 1981 C20 Camper Special

Yup, that's it. Good find It's been raining crazy here the last few days and of course I have the truck out from under the carport. I am still going to check under mine, now cuz I want to see if that got butchered underneath like the fuel system and the tank selector got before I bought it.
