I don't know much about the newer body style trucks but I do know the sm465's used in them had the shift tower located a few inches rearward of where the square body version was located. You may want to take some measurements and make sure the earlier forward placement won't interfere with the...
For a D60, the bearing hub, stub axle and spindle are all 5/8” shorter than GM.
I don’t know if the above holds true for 1/2 and 3/4 tons but Ford 1/2 tons would be 5 lug.
Also note that GM and Dodge knuckles have 6 studs for the spindle and caliper bracket, Ford only has 5.
When I eventually buy a kit for my Dodge I'm going with whomever uses the shortest bearing hub and then put some Spicer locking hubs on it.
There's a recipe of Ford parts to convert a 2nd gen Dodge axle to have locking hubs.
Good video.
I did not remove the skin off of my original dash. I used a utility knife and cut off the edges that were curling up and glued my cover to the remaining skin.
The kit comes with 1 tube of clear 500° RTV, some YT videos say it’s barely enough so I bought some additional RTV and...
Thanks. It really fits good and isn't painfully obvious it's a cover. There are a couple of spots where about 1/8" of the edges of the old dash show but they're at the outboard ends and hidden when the doors are closed.
Bare metal will be tough for this cover, it puzzle pieces on to the...
I put a Coverlay Manufacturing dash cover on my dash and I’m happy with it. It looks good and literally saved me hundreds of dollars. It’s not perfect but it’s pretty close.
My Blazer is parked inside but I’ve read that constant exposure to heat / sun can make them ripple or bow but I’m...
If the 14 bolt was a dually axle I’m 99% sure the brakes are the same, bearing hubs too. As stated the ujoints are the same, 1350.
Also, when you’re looking for parts the square bodies used a D70HD which is different from other 70’s (bigger housing, bigger bearings at the diff and it’s...
It will come out easily, over the rail bedliners typically installed with some screws and twist to lock anchors. Usually the only "damage" caused by drop in bedliners is that they will rub the paint off the bed floor.
I don't remember the outcome but I'm pretty sure there's an Engine Masters video on YT that tests brand name intakes vs similar styled foreign knock offs.
Jack the motor up and slip the brackets in like they are supposed to be.
Those short bars look like a/c compressor braces, there might be one on the alternator of some serpentine belt systems too.
You don’t want to reach down in mud/muck to operate the winch but you’re willing to potentially need to dig out a spot big enough for a winch cradle? Lets not forget how awkward it might be to stab the 2” receiver you might not be able to see while holding 75+ lbs of weight.
If you don’t want...
