    Longer wheel studs

I’ve never read of anyone finding longer studs for a D70HD, the factory ones are longer than a SRW axle. You probably need a spacer with a combo of holes and studs to bolt on between the rear tires. The trick there is the spacer needs to be a high quality piece, not a cheap chinesium part off...

Just to say it out loud, while Kert did close diy4x he is still making / selling some of the bigger products via his "Iron Monger Racing" FB page.

Installing modern seats in an older rig?

My driver seat was electric and the passenger seat had a weight sensor for the airbag. I swapped the one to a manual track and removed the weight bladder, I wanted everything to be simple and no wiring.

Installing modern seats in an older rig?

It’ll depend on your floor. The floor in my 91 Blazer is flat from the pedals to the step up at the front of the rear seat which made it as easy as drilling 4 holes for each seat. I know floors are raised under the seats, I’m not sure about earlier Blazers but that could make the seat feel too high.

Installing modern seats in an older rig?

I have 05 Silverado front seats and a 00-07 Tahoe 3rd row for the rear. For the front, the difficulty level is easy. Of course, the bolt patterns don’t match so you’ll need to drill holes to bolt them down. The rear could be tricky because of the latches on the bottom of the seat that are...

    1" ORD body lift

I have an ORD 1” body lift on my Blazer. I did have to trim the bottom of the fan shroud and the steering shaft does want to extend a little so the plastic plugs in the overlapping joint need to be drilled / melted out (there’s plenty of overlap, no danger of it falling apart). With only a 1”...

    14b vs D70HD Driveshaft lengths

Both. Lowering the truck will decrease the necessary length of the driveshaft. The pinion on the D70HD is longer than that of a 14 bolt (making the yoke is closer to the transmission).

    New Car Hauler

UV is definitely a killer, I wish I had a covered area to park mine. When I replaced my deck a month or so ago some areas were rotten enough to literally fall through however when I pulled the boards up about half were still tan like they were fairly new on the underside.

    New Car Hauler

I struggle with this because it seems like it would be a mess for a while. My dogs and I would be tracking oily footprints all over plus you can’t lay on the deck to work under anything. I just put the 3rd deck on my trailer since new in ‘06. I’m averaging around 10 years each for the first 2...

Nice. My dog LOVES the tool box on the front of my trailer, he can stand on top of it and see over the fence and stare at the neighbors. :Big Laugh:

Dana 60 front brake hoses with prebent caliper end?

I just looked at my Blazer and my hoses are straight and it looks like having a 90° bend at the caliper would complicate things.

Dana 60 front brake hoses with prebent caliper end?

Does either set of hoses come apart? If the caliper banjo screws on to the main hose you could take it apart and a 90° elbow at that junction.

ls swap sm465 with headers now slave cylinder will not fit

In the "Classic Truck Federation Badass Trucks" group (sort of a Gulf Coast group) there's a guy name TC Cameron that's currently working on a square body with an LS / manual trans (2wd) using a hydraulic T/O bearing, he may have some info for you.

8 lug hub with 6 lug caliper

Calipers, yes. Backing plates, no. 3/4 ton brakes use a larger diameter rotor so the bracket is larger. The caliper is basically the same and will mount on the 3/4 ton bracket.

Headers and exhaust for a V3500

The only thing I can think of is a vertical sheet metal gusset that runs down the outside of the upper floor pan and turns under the body but its outboard of the frame. Got a pic?

Headers and exhaust for a V3500

Can you be more specific about the location? Is it a frame piece or a bracket on the drivetrain? Is it the tcase to bellhousing support rod?

I don't know which year or motor you're working with but it should be basically the same as a similar mid 80's 1 ton.

    Cracked TH350 case

With respect to the heavy duty “K” cases, I’ve never noticed much difference in case thickness or extra ribbing, etc. The only real difference I’ve seen is the converter cover flanges being wider, thicker and threaded for the thick converter covers. Note: my experience is with th400’s

Is the polished/chrome tailgate cap stock, on my 87.

I don't own an OBS truck but from what I remember their tailgates are noticeably thicker than a square body tailgate.
