Well I accidentally bought a Jeep

Right on, what are your plans for it? My wife’s daily is an 06 LJ Rubicon, it’s a lot of fun to drive.

What have you done to your square lately??

Yesterday I snuck in to a Jeep cookout and played on their ramp some. Stunk up a car show today. :D

Steering box frame reinforcement weld in plates

Cracks at the steering box were just about standard equipment, I'd put the bolt on brace on the truck as well.

What lift kit did i just buy

Trivia; the first couple of years of K30’s used the short 2wd style hangers with blocks.

What lift kit did i just buy

Yeah, I’ve seen it done with 2 and 4wd hangers (I doubt most folks realize there’s a difference).

What lift kit did i just buy

My bet is that’s a typical 4” kit without the shackle flip. The flip brackets look well built but homemade, I haven’t seen any built like that before (single gusset about the spring eye). With the flip brackets being basically even with the bottom of the frame I’d guess they are 2”-2.5” lift...

    Tach wire and relay

I see it now. In the first post I didn’t noticed the loose connector hanging, I was just looking at the cap. At this point, you’ll have to trace that wire because that slot should be empty on a truck without a factory tach.

    Tach wire and relay

There is not a wire connected to the distributor cap at the tach slot, it’s a small 1/4x1/4 slot that should have a connector like the ignition wire. The ignition wire is in the slot closest to the firewall and the pick up coil plug is behind the tach slot close to the distributor cap.

Transmission grinds going into L or R

This ^^ Normal operation. If it’s always done it but now it’s worse, the clutch likely needs to be adjusted.

What is this part I found under the dash?

That’s different from the delay module that was in my 91. It looks aftermarket to me, third party name without GM insignia.

Steering Stabilizer Different Than Current One Even When Said To Be Exact Fit/ Bolt Doesn't Fit Through Tie Rod

@JamesSam its hard to tell in the pic, are you inserting the tapered side of the stud into the tie rod?

Steering Stabilizer Different Than Current One Even When Said To Be Exact Fit/ Bolt Doesn't Fit Through Tie Rod

As stated, that’s a stud. Remove the nut and move the stud over to the new stabilizer.

Steering Stabilizer Different Than Current One Even When Said To Be Exact Fit/ Bolt Doesn't Fit Through Tie Rod

It's hard to tell if the hardware will transfer without seeing how the other side of the tapered stud is attached (through bolt, etc). The old one is a replacement unit also so I'd bet with some patience the hardware can be reused.

Transfer case support brace. Who got one to sell?

The length varies, I'd hunt by measurement (bellhousing surface to the first tcase bolt) the good thing is that the tcase holes in the bar are oval so your measurement could be off 1/8"ish.

    Mystery Bracket Under Dash

Seems like the key buzzer and and a couple of other things were attached to that on my blazer but they're all gone now. If equipped, a manual throttle controller also bolts to that bracket.

    1978 Chev 4x4 Ambulance

Cummins swap for power and mpg’s, repaint and remodel the inside as a camper. That thing would be perfect for pulling another square / racercar all over the place.

Sanderson BB8-P headers on a 454 in a crew cab dually

Yeah, I get that about gambling on various headers. I bet that thing is a blast to drive!

Sanderson BB8-P headers on a 454 in a crew cab dually

@Fastduramax really cool engine and it looks great! I love my Sanderson's but, honestly, I would have thought they (being 1-7/8") would be a little small for the 572.

Sanderson BB8-P headers on a 454 in a crew cab dually

Also, I’m running 70’s oval port 781 casting heads. I don’t think later peanut ports change much relative to plugs vs headers, aftermarket heads are all over the place depending on what you buy.

Sanderson BB8-P headers on a 454 in a crew cab dually

Yes, I run regular Autolite 26 plugs and they’re easy to change. Most of my plug wire boots clear fine but I have 1 that touches a tube, they are Taylor 409 wires with 45 degree boots. The plug wires are 10.5mm so everything about them is big, regular 8mm may not have any issues.

That piece lays somewhat loose inside the column, use a dab of grease to hold it in place during assembly.

    4x4 Stabilizer Bar Bushing Install

I’ve never messed with rubber but I know a lot of people struggle with them. I’ve used urethane bushings many times, these are easy before they come as 2 halves that can be pushed in by hand.

Sanderson BB8-P headers on a 454 in a crew cab dually

@86burban I only say this because of the potential fitment issues I posted but if you decide you don't want to use those headers holler at me I may be interested. Also, the info on the 4wd R30 I mentioned is on CK5.com posted by "mrk5".
