3 years only working weekends, every nut, bolt and piece restored or replaced.

Honestly Sir…
It’s a trial and error thing to fit doors. Had you asked before I would have recommended fitting the doors first before painting the jambs and leaving them on from that moment forward.
I had mine on and off 20+ times to get them fit before starting bodywork, I didn’t dare take...
Another squircle!
Welcome from California too, also just got done with a full resto on a 1980

Not too sure what exactly you’re looking for…
My pedal bracket is from a manual truck converted with an auto brake pedal.
There are some thin nylon bushing inserts the pedal arm rides on, I can’t remember if there’s a sleeve or anything to prevent it from binding. It’s bolted together with a...
I know spring shops can re-arch springs and add leaf's to make lift springs from stock springs...
It's possible you could get a spring service to reduce the arch on your front spring to return it to stock height.
When I had my springs arched in 1997 it cost me $25 per spring for the labor and...
Any time my carb lost its prime I would need to pour fuel straight into it to get it started. After a start it would stay primed.
Also
At one point my tank switch valve went bad, it would lose prime trying to suck air from whichever side tank was empty so I bypassed the valve and only used...
Once upon a time when I worked at a Full Service gas station, many of the squares (and a few others) we would flip the hose nozzle upside down and they would pump without interruption.
Great write up!
I went through this when I did the L31 for the Squircle. Getting them apart with the oil varnish groove is a PIA, but they go right back together once it’s cleaned out
I know Holley makes retrofit fuel pumps with a big sock on the bottom that works without baffling. They were stupid expensive when I was looking. I was able to do my entire fuel system with new baffled tanks, high pressure lines, sending units, pumps, and the switch in the cab. For less than two...
Yup…
L31 & 4L60e in an ‘80 K-10, I did my best to keep it factory looking and mostly GM parts.
I’d say the biggest things to overcome were:
A reflash on the ‘98 PCM for my L31 was going to cost way more than just swapping to a newer PCM and re-pinning the entire wiring harness.
Updating the...
Uhhhh….
This is an assumption because I haven’t personally tried it but, you’ll be hard pressed to clear those 35” tires on only 4” of lift without some trimming
Good to hear everything is working now
Wouldn’t hurt to take a look behind the connector…. But, I have to be honest if it was my daily driver I probably wouldn’t have the desire to mess with it if everything was working.
Unless your stock stuff has been burnt up or badly damaged, I recommend just tidying it up and staying stock. The GM harness and fuse box is every bit as quality as anything available on the aftermarket
I went with the Holley retrobright in mine, for the cost I would have preferred a glass lens but mine are not likely to spend enough time in the sun to get opaque like so many of the new cars with plastic headlights. They appear very well built, have a nice pattern and color temperature, I...
Rather large lug, looks like the right size to ground to the back of the passenger side head…
Just an educated guess though based on the size, that it’s covered in oil, and the length of the lead.
My first picture is the same as yours just out of the truck and cleaned up. That big section of wires is actually 3 separate connectors that snap together before you bolt the plug into the bulkhead.
The 2 red 10 ga wires in your picture are the ones that supply the fuse box with power.
My...
I wonder if your bulkhead connection is burned up…
If I read your post correctly someone bypassed the bulkhead and ran an orange wire into the cab instead of through the fuse block?
There should be two 10 ga wires routed from the junction on the firewall to the bulkhead connector, each should...
How is the rust situation where you're at?
I'm a fan of epoxy paints for most chassis applications, its affordable, has good adhesion and is fairly chemical resistant.
Another option for the air catalyzed "Rust inhibitor" paints is Rust Bullet.
