    Let’s see your memorabilia?!

Saw your photos and realized I have one very similar that my father gave me years ago. Where would it be??? In the kitchen of course, buried under baking sheets. Unlike the Griswold skillet that I use most days, I have never used this. If my dad used this I have no memory of that.

What have you done to your square lately??

Drove to Bedford VA to the D-Day Memorial since tomorrow is June 6. The little town of Bedford suffered the highest per-capita losses on D-Day - 20 young men. Great memorial. Beautiful drive, about 50 miles round trip. Blazer did great.

    Let’s see your memorabilia?!

I do a lot of cooking and baking and for skillet work i always use my old Griswold #9 cast iron skillet. This skillet permanently resides on the stove top and is used most days. The wife knows to not move it or try to wash it or put it in the dishwasher. Properly seasoned its relatively...

Lawn/ Garden tractors/ Riding Mowers, Cool Mods and tinkering

I’ve always been a traditional tractor kind of guy as they are more versatile around the farm for reasons others have mentioned. And not that I’m old, but check out my cool brushguard and front fenders I added! The alloy wheels are factory but look nice. Hmm. Maybe I am old. :rotflmao:

Any tricks to getting your SB doors to close easier?

@Dejure Im glad it worked for you, but I’d be a butt head if I tried to take credit! :D As somebody mentioned there is a Sticky Thread on this that I came across and tried and was extremely pleased with the result. Welcome back to the world of non-slamming doors!

What have you done to your square lately??

Drove down to Chatham VA for their monthly Cruise In, which are typically huge. Tonight the turnout was heavy due to the perfect weather, estimates were at least 500 cars attended! But only 1 awesome Blazer. It’s about a 45 minute ride each way, and the Blazer did wonderful, no problems at...

Any tricks to getting your SB doors to close easier?

My drivers door has always been a PITA to close all the way. I hate slamming doors or anything else for that matter, but that’s what it took to close it all the way. Then I found the thread here about using 1/2” PEX to make new sleeves for the door catch. Some of my original sleeve was still...

Any tricks to getting your SB doors to close easier?

Sorry I can’t figure out how to link to my previous post, but I just fixed my K5 Blazer door slamming problem and posted it in Post #23,043.

Drove it! Actually I drive it several times a week, weather permitting, but today my lovely wife went along and snapped a couple pics. Gorgeous day for a drive! When we got home we put her Wrangler on the lift and replaced the running boards and changed the oil together. Then we changed the...

What have you done to your square lately??

I restored these wonderful antique Dayton scales and would order tempered glass ovals and rounds for them from this company. A big, thick one as shown was around $75 I believe but it was thick and had rounded edges so a plain flat rectangle would be cheaper. Plus you can size it all out and get...

    TH350 oil level, engine off

Installed my aux transmission cooler today. After a leak check (none!) I drove it the same route I did when I first put the temp gauge in. New cooler made a significant difference, even with it being warmer. (85 outside). I plumbed it in per the diagram below btw. I did paint the brackets I...

For something like an automatic transmission, where you have fluid doing different things in different locations in the tranny there is really no perfect place to monitor temps. What’s important is to establish a baseline and just watch it for deviations versus a specific number. This is...

What have you done to your square lately??

Installed my transmission temperature gauge today. The Autometer literature recommended a “short” sending unit if installing it in a pressure test port so as to not bottom it out. Install went with no problem and I took it for a 40 minute ride. Temps climbed to a bit under 210 then fluctuated a...

What have you done to your square lately??

I can say that a wire wheel on a drill motor does a great job of transferring grime from the transfer case to your body. I looked like I had changed races by the time I was done. :D

    TH350 oil level, engine off

I am planning to install a temperature sending unit in my TH350 and was leaning towards installing the unit in the 1/8” NPT pressure tap port, circled in yellow. With the engine off and tranny cold is this port above the fluid level ( assuming not overfilled) or will I need to drain fluid before...

What have you done to your square lately??

A few days ago I posted about my transmission work; changing to a pan with a drain plug and removing the kick down cable. I reused the LubeLocker pan gasket, something I have done in the past with no issues. This time it developed a leak so I dropped the pan and replaced the gasket. Today I...
