    Polishing up the gauge lens

So as usual, I started a task - get my AC working - and then I got distracted with other things. * Why aren't my dash lights working? So while I was trying to take out my cluster, I removed the lens and tried out some plastic polish I had laying around with a foam pad in a cordless drill. It...

Removing instrument panel - dealing with the oil pressure line

This is a good description of where I'm at now. Dash pad, glovebox and bezel removed. left and right plenum's removed. Now I need to figure out the defrost ducts and anywhere else a mouse might have turned into a bathroom.

Removing instrument panel - dealing with the oil pressure line

This is a strange thing that I haven't found any help on the internet at all. It's a 1974 K-20. I was trying to remove the instrument panel and I'm not sure what to do with the oil pressure line. Everything I see online only talks about the speedo cable and the power harness, which are both...

    Proportioning Valve and Bleeding

I had this problem too, which sucked because my family seems to sense when I need a brake pumper and they disappear. I ended up wrapping the thread with anti-seize which seemed to do the trick. Also because one of the bleeders was completely seized in the caliper. I still prefer the old pumping...

    Wanting 4" suspension suggestions

I don't plan on hardcore off-roading, but we are right next to the desert so I wouldn't want to take that option off the table. It's mostly for a weekend cruiser, but let's not limit the options. Honestly I just really like the stance of the Fall Guy truck so that's my motivation for a 6" lift...

    Wanting 4" suspension suggestions

OK, so I'm still trying to figure out the optimal setup and I'm worried that a 4" lift just isn't enough for 35" tires. I don't want to go smaller on the tires. So what are your thoughts on a 6" lift? Optionally I was thinking about maybe still doing the 4" and modding my fenders to still be...

    Wanting 4" suspension suggestions

Well the price is certainly right for these. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000E3DU1O/ Of course that's lacking the U-bolts and I'm not sure if those are really front or rear. I should probably get new shackles as well. The front brake lines are already good for 4" lift but the rear is...

    Wanting 4" suspension suggestions

They're 35x10.5 BFG AT on 10" wide wheels with a -22 offset - so they're wide-ish. Wouldn't moving the axle forward an inch require other mods? Or is that within the axles allowable range. Also the steering arm would need to be longer, or maybe just adjust it way out (safe?)

    Wanting 4" suspension suggestions

How big of an effort is that? I'd probably need a longer drive shaft and the pitman arm, correct? I like this idea in spirit.

    Wanting 4" suspension suggestions

My K-20 currently has a 2" lift. It came that way. I assume it's aftermarket leaf's up front and it has 2" blocks in the back (I looks to maybe also an add-a-leaf in the rear). That said, it's a bouncy ride. In summary, my two questions are; I need to lift it a little more for my tires. Is...

What have you done to your square lately??

Oh let's see... * Finally got my timing about right. * It finally starts and runs great...and... * Starter stopped working - tapped it with a hammer and it works again. That may be on the menu to fix soon. * Drove it around with the parking brake on. SOOO, Finally installed the parking brake...

LMC AC controller has too many detents

Well LMC did follow up with me but not with the news I wanted to hear. They said that this part is correct and nobody's complained about it before "so it should work fine." I think it will work if I straddle the detents and just eyeball it, but it still seems rigged. I may just use this to...

LMC AC controller has too many detents

That's good info - thank you. I was wondering about that left detent on the cold. Now I know.

LMC AC controller has too many detents

You know - I didn't even consider this because most online places don't give any service. I called them and they were very helpful. They wanted pics so they could forward them to the right people and if it's wrong they'll replace it. I'll keep this thread updated with the outcome but bravo LMC...

LMC AC controller has too many detents

This is what I have So six positions. The stock one for sure only detents on those 6 positions. The LMC just has this exact same graphic, but with 7 detents.

    Sagging doors: where to start?

Your strikers aren't in terrible shape. Usually the door pins need to be replaced assuming the doors haven't been completely removed. They're pretty cheap and relatively easy to replace (watch videos). I removed the door from the outer bolts to do it and I ended up just cutting the factory...

LMC AC controller has too many detents

I ordered the AC/heater controller to replace the one I have (which is missing knobs, scratched and just looks awful). The problem is it has too many detents for the top lever. The label is correct, it has 6 sections, but 7 detents. I'll try to get fancy with fonts to explain - When I slide...

When you put it like that :hahano:

First real drive! Not tragic but not good. I think I need carb advice.

It has two. They match the picture I put above. It has one. I guess it's the Scottsdale? So it's probably something that didn't come on my truck, correct?

First real drive! Not tragic but not good. I think I need carb advice.

I'm going to keep responding to myself with the answers to my own questions in case any other SB noobs run across this. Answers for previous post: The speedometer cable was just not pushed in all the way. It goes on way further than you'd think. The Edelbrock kick down adapter appears to do...

    Switching to dumbo mirrors

I found a couple templates for their location. It seems like in pictures most people line it up in the middle with the wing-window support bar. The factory location is a few inches forward of that. I didn't get the bracket that goes inside the door (yet). If I do get it, I think that will...

    Rear Window size question

I just got a one piece rubber gasket (no groove). I may live to regret that. I've done this before on a Toyota so I'm familiar with the process but I'm sure the fit won't be easy.

    Rear Window size question

Yeah I tried a couple glass places. Their suppliers don't have them. LMC has it and charge more for shipping than the glass but I guess that's to be expected.

Kick panels with 6.5" speaker pods

I was wondering how those work too. I used to install stereos in the late 80's and we never did that back then. There's no depth behind it without some work. There's tons of room in the door and 6x9's are underrated. That was back in a time where nobody cared about cutting holes in their doors...

    Rear Window size question

I'm looking to replace my rear window for a 1974 K-20. It has a slider. I don't know if it's factory. I wanted to change it to a solid window. Everywhere I look it's called a "large" window. They approx. the glass size to be 16"x64". The problem is that is beyond the size of the outer edge of...
