    Someone on here knows but I don't believe it was supposed to be welded. They used a special bonding glue. I used to know what it's called but it basically comes out of a calking gun.

    I meant what you said but wasn't clear lol. I've gone through lots of cheap ones in the past from the auto parts store. Oem parts are bound to last longer has been my experiences. Especially electronics.

    I tried reading through this and watched the first video. It's over my head lol. Maybe manual swap. I get frustrated with automatic transmissions because I'm so old school and want things to shift when they should so I gravitate to manuals. I really hope you figure it our and get it fixed up...

    Sounds like you're getting close. They go bad allot. Keep extra CTS in glove box. Look around for oem brands like Delco or Delphi.

    I know you replaced distributor but it's still possible the new one has a problem. So in the beginning. Was running good daily then wouldn't start for your son. You replaced distributor and it now runs but poorly and now you have different symptoms than before. Maybe point at distributor again...

    Good advice, I've got 3 driveshafts in 2 rigs with a conversion u-joint. I keep box labels in glove box.
