    Cracked TH350 case

That crack isn’t at the bell housing, it’s at the output shaft that mates to the adapter for the transfer case. Sure someone could blob some spoolgun MiG on it, to do it right is going to be far beyond a 5 minute job. Unless if you have an ‘in’ with someone who does this sort of repair work...

    Wobbly power steering pump pulley

First, it is a press on pulley correct? It should be if it’s original to a 1983, the earlier (like late 60s) pumps use a keyed pulley with a nut on the shaft. Remove the belt, if you have a dial indicator use that, if you don’t find a sturdy wire that can be shaped (like a metal coat hanger...

    Wobbly power steering pump pulley

Is the pulley wobbling, or is it the pump shaft wobbling? It’s easy to mangle those stamped pulleys in the attempt to use a jaw style puller or something else instead of the correct puller. Power steering pumps are pretty simple creatures, as far as shafts and bearings are concerned. The pump...

    Body filler recommendations

Here? To do it like GM a swipe of seam sealer in the joints (best a 2k seam sealer). On my 79, just a single cab, I welded the seams and ground them, then just regular polyester filler over the seams. I’ve never used all metal myself, but some people seem to love it, others hate it. It is...

New member with a new C10 build

Welcome from Missouri. Those hubcaps were used on squarebodies. My 76 C10 came with them. They wouldn’t have been stock on a 79, they had gone to a different style full wheel cover by then. The ones used on the ‘action line’ trucks have a blue bow tie instead of the Ochre colored bow ties on...

    TH350 oil level, engine off

I can’t speak regarding any GM transmissions, but the 46/47/48re Dodge transmissions have a temperature sensor that is part of the valve body electronics, so reading from the pan. When I installed the Edge tuner, they supply another temp sender to install into a test port of the transmission...

What have you done to your square lately??

On a 1973-1974 (or 1975 with Electronic ignition delete, so points) they use a resistor wire that with key on drops the voltage to ~7-9 volts to keep the points from burning up. They also use the post on the starter to provide 12V to the coil to bypass the resistor wire when cranking. Basically...

Wheel center caps for 3.75" bore

I’m guessing those are plastic centers? I think the chromed plastic might look a little off, but I think a steel push thru center, chrome or painted would look good. My late grandfathers 72 C20 has push thru chrome centers on the slots and I think it’s good look. Alternatively, with the...

Retaining rings for rear wheel bearings

It should be the the outer bearing, washer, nut, retainer, outer nut as far as the stack up is concerned. The bent “fingers” should go towards the carrier, grabbing the inner nut, then one of the circled tabs bent over the outer nut. GM part number: 3663659 in case anyone might need to source...

    Cattle guard compatibility?

It should, frame horns are the same from 1973-1980, they changed for 1981 updated front end, those are 1981-1987(91). Might make your blazer do a stoppie though

What have you done to your square lately??

@Chris64 you did bypass/eliminate the resistor wire and give the HEI a good solid 12v right? That’s something that is often overlooked doing an HEI upgrade, they will work being under volted for a while, but issues will arise at some point.

Water leak on floor, not sure how to fix

You need to clean out the bottom of that vent bucket. It should be open at the bottom to let it drain. Use a vacuum or a poker and some water to get it broken up and flushed out. Also make sure your cowl vent screen is in place and not broken up.

    1987 Chevy V10 steering wander

Based on what you describe, I’d look at the thrust bearing in the box first. Check/adjust that first, then check/adjust the over center adjustment. Unfortunately new (or reman) doesn’t always mean right or better. Especially in the present day. If everything else is tight, a steering...

    1987 Chevy V10 steering wander

This is from a 70s Unit repair manual. Should be the same for an 87 however. The 1987 unit repair manual should be available in the tech section of the forum. First the thrust bearing needs to be adjusted, then the over center adjustment. Most people ignore the first step and make more...

    1977 C20 Heavy duty with 11.15 drums?

Not really a factor in this case, until the introduction of the 9.5 14b SF all 3/4 tons were 10.5 full floats. J55 is the RPO code for HD brakes. You have the JB6 brakes and 11" drums. JB6 master reservoir walls are straight up and down, JB7 has a bulge in-between the bails.
