Footwell, rockers and cab corner replacement

Looks like you'll need kick panels too. Id probably start with kick panels, inner rocker, then outer, then floor. Best to fit things together before welding anything solid to make sure your alignment and door gaps remains correct.

    84 K10 full exhaust replacement

You generally want the cats as close to the collector as reasonable, lights them off faster and thus they begin doing their job faster. They want hot exhaust. In my opinion a crossover smooths out the sound. I do H pipes just because it's easier than an X.

    1983 chevy k30 dually width

A cab and chassis will use a 14 bolt axle, a dually pickup uses a Dana 70HD rear axle. The shape of the covers will give it away, along with the Dana will only have 10 cover bolts.

    Rough country lift

I would suggest going with the Tuff country front springs, then keep your stock rear springs and get an Off Road Design shackle flip for the the rear. My friends 75 K5 is setup that way and rides nice.

Lowest drop coil springs for c20/c30?

Twin I beams are so great that you need to bend them to align them… Ford people love to tout how heavy duty and tough twin I beams are, little do they know that GM’s used a massive girder beam. Of course, they doubled down with the twin traction beam front axles.. Now I will say that the...

    Replacing K20 fuel tank

Copied this from a previous reply on this topic: Two brackets that mount to the frame, 4 bolts each, you will be working from the inside of the frame rail. Don’t forget to remove the ground wire that goes from the sending unit to the frame before you begin to drop the tank. When you go to...

    '82 K10 Fuel Gauge Pegged

Get underneath and look at how big the tank is. If the filler neck hose after the elbow is ~2 inches long it’s a 20 gallon tank, a 16 gallon tank in a longbed will have a much longer filler neck and vent line as the tank is shorter.

    FUEL TANK CAPACITY 1982 K10 4x4

In the 70s yes, in the 80s at some point things changed a long bed would be a 20 gallon single tank standard, or dual 16 gallon tanks. Beyond a certain GVWR (like a CP6 3/4 ton), they would get dual 20 gallon tanks.

15x8 and 15x10 in 8x6.5 Or you could probably find some old 16.5s for almost nothing since most people want 16" or 17"+ wheels for their 3/4-1 ton trucks these days.

Any tricks to getting your SB doors to close easier?

The reason the striker needs the bushing (or pex, etc) is the latch is designed to work with the diameter of the bushing. If you study the latch and the striker you'll see how and why being bushing-less creates lots of issues. The striker needs to be able to latch the latch through both...

    Sbc 350 lifter tick help

Use a long screwdriver or a piece of hose as a stethoscope and with the engine running stick one end on the pump and the other on your ear and listen. The one I had fail like that wasn't that old, maybe a year or two old. Still pumped fine. Removed it and it fell apart.

    Sbc 350 lifter tick help

Mechanical fuel pump? I had one on my 76 that the pivot pin for the arm was free to move around and it rattled, sounded a lot like a lifter ticking. Being it's can driven, it will also run at 1/2 speed like the lifters.

    Dually Fender Attachment

Adding my thoughts, I believe having a “hanger bolt” or stud with the with the flange in the middle is the key to success. That allows for the stud to bottom out in the flare, so controls the depth, but when installed on the bedside it puts the clamp load between the flange and nut, not the...
