A/C stops blowing when I come to a stop??

If the blower motor stops/is intermittent, first thing I’d check is the heavy power wire going to the blower motor. The molded connector on the end can get misshapen/shrinks or something where it visually appears to be connected, but it’s actually not seated completely. My 76 is that way, on...

Drivers door will not unlock all the sudden.

Have you tried pushing the button on the exterior door handle first, then attempt to unlock? My 76 is that way. Don’t know why (guessing wear in the various linkages).

    Old77’s GMT400 SWB 4x4 5-speed project/DD

I’m kind of suspicious of those DeWalt bits, I’m not really seeing anything that says they are really high speed cobalt. These are a couple Precision Twist drills, top two are cobalt, shown saying CO and having that reduced diameter at the end of the shank. Bottom is just a regular High speed...

Got a picture or a link to those carbide bits? Just curious. Surprised it’s gone this far without a hit it with your purse comment :) Ya know, if they had done put a solid front axle in them trucks you wouldn’t have to fight it like that… If you were closer I’d loan you some good drill bits.

    Harmonic balancer bolt torque specs

Behold, the 1984 service manual, available right here on the site 60ft lb for the center bolt, for the pulley bolts like 30-35ftlb if they are 3/8”

What kind of drill bits are you using? A real (not hardware store) M42 HSCO (high speed cobalt) drill should be able to make its way through without issue. Also I have found when trying to pound solid rivets out, sometime going the other direction goes easier. Not sure if it’s because of some...

Needs MORE POWER!!! (Tim Taylor Style!!!)

In a basic sense it dropping tire size will, how much and if it would be enough for what you are wanting is hard to say. Measure both the 37s and 35s to get their true diameter, some tires are really that diameter, most are smaller. My Dodge has 35x12.5x17s that are really 34.5” tall. That...

    Idle problem

First is the choke functioning correctly and hooked up, not going onto the fast idle cam? What intake manifold does the truck have? And what carb(s)? Is the vacuum advance and mechanical advance functional in the distributor? What is your base timing set to?

That’s like 4.5¢/lb or $90/ton. When I scrapped the red dodge cab and bed I got 6.5¢/lb or $130/ton. Looking good though.

    NP241C issues

Yes the 208/241s just use rtv between the case halves. Extension housing/tailhousing uses a gasket. They have a fairly course machined finish on the faces that is by design to give the sealer somewhere to go: This is a dodge 241DHD, but similar to the C variants

For removing the spot welds a thin cut off wheel works decently. Just float over the spot weld going side to side. Keeping an eye on when it just breaks through. Or a 1/2x18 band fine/dynafile, same idea, thin the waste side of the the spot weld unit it pops. Or a blair spotweld cutter...

    New RockAuto discount code

I've mentioned it in other threads, but I'll add it here. For any rock auto shoppers out there, if you have the ability to ship your order to a commercial address the shipping will be cheaper. 1978 C15 Short Bed Step Side Leaf Spring Question

I believe it was an option for coils, but leaf spring was standard, opposed to Chevys being the opposite. I'm not sure that I've personally seen a 67-72 GMC C series with rear coils, but I've certainly not seen them all. A quick look through the first 10 or so bring a trailer results show...

1978 C15 Short Bed Step Side Leaf Spring Question

72 was the last year for rear coils on 2wd Chevy trucks (GMCs and all 4wd would be leaf sprung rears). As far as the rear leafs are concerned, a short bed could be the same GVWR as a long bed, so the same leaf spring choices were available to both long and short wheel bases.
