Cut the extra boxes off the top of your original cover at the spot welds. Plug or reuse the holes in the cover, plus plug the holes at the other end of the AIR lines with a pipe plug. Repaint and reinstall. K- Keith Seymore

Where does the engine smoothness come from?
It's fuel delivery, too. Fuel injection (especially computer controlled fuel injection) allows you to tailor the air/fuel ratio across the entire map of engine RPM and load. Two things: One - a GM V8 is inherently balanced, not only from a rotational mass standpoint but from a firing frequency standpoint. '85 C10 Silverado stock wheel size
Not for rallys. 6.5" wide would be van rallys. https://www.gm.com/content/dam/company/no_search/heritage-archive-docs/vehicle-information-kits/chevrolet-trucks/1985-Chevrolet-Truck.pdf C/K truck rallys (RPO N67) are 15x7 base, and 15x8 for P225 or P235 tires. K- Keith Seymore

JB5 vs JB7 Brake system
The easiest way to tell: JB5 is a half ton brake system, so the hubs will be 5 lug (or 6 lug for a K truck). I think what you meant to ask is: Do I have a JB6 or JB7? JB6 = 6600 lb GVW JB7 = 8600 lb GVW. K- Keith Seymore

Correct. 1 - Two pistons distribute the load on the pad better. 2- The smaller pistons have a better "L over D" ratio.
