I see that today is June 11th.
It was June 11, 1979 that I started with GM.
By way of review: retired from GM in February of 2019.
Started with Nissan in May of 2109, and retired (again) May 1st of 2025.
One month into being retired for reals -
:headbang:
Keep in mind there's still going to be about three gallons unusable fuel in the tank even if you run it "dry".
The correct answer is either 16 or 20. Those are your choices.

Long wheel base or short?
SWB = 16 gal
LWB = 20 gal

You could add another tube and snorkel to the LH side.
There is a knockout in the rad support to allow the installation of another "birdcage".
I ran this setup on my Chevelle with the flat hood and it was worth .2 sec reduction in ET in the quarter.

What if -
You just undid the springs at the rear shackle and let the back of the truck down four inches? Check the yoke then and see where it ends up.
The front drop (or lack thereof) should not affect this.

I had a boss once that wanted the picture - and the thousand words.
Good grief. If he ever wrote a book the whole thing would have been on the title page.

I note that my '87 R10 has the JB5 system, which has the same front system as JB3. The differences are in the rear brake and proportioning to the rear.
My '87 stops perfectly with the original stock parts, and is the standard by which I judge other systems and setups.

Joining late, but to reiterate: You need to go by the reservoir size.
On the cast iron units: larger reservoir in front services the front brakes.
WIth the aluminum body units: larger reservoir in rear services the front brakes.
But it is ALWAYS larger reservoir = fronts; small reservoir...
The one with the Haulmark?: yah - that was ill advised. I wouldn't do it again.
Not so much for the handling aspect, but with the little V6 and manual trans it struggled a bit.

Mine was a daily for 30 years and 200000 miles.
Light hauling, trailering, and back and forth to work.
It's what they were made for, and that's what we did with them back in the day.
K
Did you shim the caster up like I suggested?
It's something you can do at home, in the driveway, without affecting any other adjustments.
10 degrees is what we used in order to fix customer complaint vehicles that the dealerships couldn't fix.
