    Method 701 milled aluminium rims

Looks like it's a no go for the Method wheels. Old lady gave the matte black a thumbs down.

I have a feeling this is going to get expensive.

It starts around 35 mph up to about 55.

    Method 701 milled aluminium rims

Going through all the possible reasons for my vibration. When I watched the tire guys road force balance them, the welded steel rims appeared to be a little wobbly. Wouldn't mind a nice milled aluminum straight wheel.

I try not to imagine it too much either!

I have seen this video, thanks. That is why I installed the pinion shims to get the angles right. I will try to flip the driveshaft/yoke and see what that does.

I have a feeling this is going to get expensive.

So far I have changed tires and had them road force balanced with weight hammered onto the rims, not the little stickers ($1100). Went through two sets of tires, so thinking they are good but the rims are suspect. Then changed all steering tie rods and ball joints ($1200). Just finished adding...

    Method 701 milled aluminium rims

Thinking of putting these on. $333 each. Anyone have a thought? I thought they would look great on the black square.

Before you string me up ..

Before I have to hear it from someones Aunt on this site about torque and old U bolts, I got new U bolts coming.

Redfish, Called the Skyjacker guys and did not find them as helpful. Did you have to order longer U bolts? I ordered some Superlift U bolts (3318) and hope they work, if not the project may take a little longer.

Redfish, Just wanted to confirm with you, The Skyjacker Soft Rides you got are 47" long, 2.5" wide and give you about a 3"lift. The part numbers are C125S correct?

Before you string me up ..

Going for the 2.5 Skyjacker. Cannot afford one more inch of lift or it won't fit past the 7' garage door.

Before you string me up ..

Eric, I replaced all the bushings last year with ORD kevlars and greaseable bolts. The present project is to install pinion shims in the back to change the driveline angle and hopefully get rid of an annoying vibration. Then get rid of the blocks in the front with soft ride springs and by the...

Tires are 33s no blocks in the back, only in the front.

DVD, did you read the OPs first post? I'm assuming you just look at pictures. I am asking a question that will fix my block issue. Your post is no help.

Grit, not sure of lift in back. I don't know what stock height is. Getting ready to put 4 degree pinion shims in rear, so that might add another half inch. I don't think Skyjacker makes a 2" softride leaf. I'll have to wait to get measurements.

I can't make out the part number from your pic. Skyjacker site only shows those springs for CJs.

Before you string me up ..

From all I have read the 2.5 Skyjacker leafs will probably work the best for keeping the truck stance about the same and provide a good ride. I'll let you know.

The pic shows the front higher but it is really fairly level. I'm sure the rear springs are not stock either.

I bought the truck this way years ago. It hasn't killed me yet. I would like to get rid of the 3"of blocks in the front. Is it safe to say 3" lift leaf springs would provide the same lift so everything would still line up as it is now? Is Skyjacker or other better for a more comfortable ride?

Equal - Tire Balancing Beads, No weights to Lose

Just to revisit this post. My tire guy told me if the big tires sit too long they develop flat spots. The beads will find those flat spots and will make matters worse. Any truth to this?

    Replacing front steering components question

DVD, yes, thanks. Looking for a place that sells a new one. Can't seem to locate one. Center adjusting tube that is. #2 in the pic.

    Replacing front steering components question

I'm in the process of ordering new Tie Rods and Ball Joints and came to the Center Link Adjusting Tube. I know that it should come off with no problem, but concerned if I have to destroy some threads. I can't seem to find that item anywhere. I'd like to know there will be a bridge to cross if it...
