Door Glass Channel Replacement 1974 K5 Blazer

Snoots your idea of brazing was close to what I did. I soaked my parts and deleted all rust and then used metal rods to stablize a nice mixture of JB Weld. I dont have brazing skills so this is what I could do. Its strong as hell now and I painted all of it to keep the rust out. I then picked up...

    How to achieve tighter steering?

Look at the Steering shaft and see how worn the rag joint is. This design allows a lot of slop no matter if new or not. Check out this Jeep steering shaft hack. It replaces the Chevy shaft with a Jeeps shaft which has no rag joint. I am doing this now to my 78 Cheyenne 4x4.

    Window Channel Replacement 1974 K5

I recently broke the window channel that is in my drivers side door on my 74 K5. For the life of me I cannot find a replacement for it. LMC, Brothers and all the other classic vendors start at 76. I need the channel as well as the rubber that goes in the track. LMC was called but the person on...

Door Glass Channel Replacement 1974 K5 Blazer

I recently broke the Glass Channel on the drivers side window of my 74 K5. LMC does not stock these and I cannot seem to locate a vendor. Would anyone know where to get a replacement for this particular part? I do see lots of pics on the net but these are all for trucks. The 74 has a full...

    Square body being towed

I hired a trucking company to move my 78 4x4 and my 74 K5. I moved from Carolina to AZ and it cost about $900.00 to do. There was no way I would trust the bearings in either truck to roll that far so having someone pick them up and take care of everything was a real luxury. Took about 3 days and...

    Little tips and tricks

I did another very old rusty batch over the weekend. Left them in over night and wow what a difference. Air is your enemy so zip lock em and spray in that WD40. Lasts longer than a tin foil wrapped meatball in the freezer!!

    Little tips and tricks

I recently pulled all the old bolts out of my fender and fender wells so I can pull the engine. All the bolts were very rusty. I put them all in a bowl and poured in apple cider vinegar. Let sit for a few hours and you will have beautiful rust free bolts. Then take out, rinse, and then plop in a...

    Let's talk vehicle security...

I've seen guys install a switch to cut the fuel pump and or ignition and then route it to just underneath the shifter boot. you have to feel through the rubber to find it but you can access it and flip it on and off easily.

    Quality Part Recommendations

Good Morning Square Body Friends, I am building a 383 for my 1978 Scottsdale 4x4. I am not putting crap parts on this from Autozone and was wondering if any of you had a good source for QUALITY Steering pumps and Alternators. I do not want to invest in remanufactured parts....just a waste...
