Really, a different nother spark plug thread

So, my 85 K20 Suburban called for Delco R44T plugs since it had what GM called Heavy Duty emissions stuff. Leaded gas too. My 100,000 miles ago Goodwrench crate engine calls for R45TS Delcos. I know the R45TS is a little hotter plug, but the R44T's ran just fine. Which should I use? And...

    Heater/Def Blower

The compressor seized in -20 degree cold. AC was not on, but the dang thing just wasn't turning the pulley. So I took the belt off. I'll check the wires to the compressor for a short. Thanks!

    Heater/Def Blower

Howdy. My 85 K20 Suburban has an odd issue I cannot figure out. My AC compressor wonked out back in 1995, so no belt on the compressor. The heat and defrost worked fine until a year ago. The blower fan started making a big racket and then seized a year ago. It isn't that cold here often so I...

    Show your daily driver

My daily driver since March of 1994. 1985 K20 with SM465 four speed manual. 40 gallon tank. Had 70K on it when I got it. Put a fresh Goodwrench 350 crate block in at 325K along with a new clutch. Found a CUCV grill guard in Barstow when my .gov agency sent me to Kalifornistan since I am so...

What new tools have you got lately?

Well, over the last couple months, I have been replacing my 3/8 and 1/2 inch sockets/wrenches, box end wrenches and screwdrivers which were a mixture of mixmaster all kinds of makers. Started buying used S-K tools on Etsy and EeeeBay. Basically I will have a good set of tools for wrenching at...

What fluid stains do your daily drivers leave?

I am the FNG here. Been wrenching on my '85 Suburban quite a bit lately. It was leaking from the radiator so I replaced that. Now I am leakless...

    Howdy from Far West Texas

Howdy I live down in Far West Texas near Terlingua. My truck is an '85 K20 Suburban that I have had since 1994. Tranny is a SM465, had a Goodwrench crate 350 put in when the original hit 325,000 miles. Was burning a quart of 20-50 every 500 miles. Now the Burb has 425K on it. Splendid truck.
