    Seat Hump Patch Panel?

I have 4 cabs in my stack lot that all still have original paint on the floors, rockers and cab corners. I guess y'all would call 'em "super clean".

    Seat Hump Patch Panel?

Holy Toledo, brother - get your butt down here to Texas and snag yourself a rust free cab! Let me know when you're coming and I'll have a few lined up for you to look at!

350 TBI runs rough if at all

^ intake coolant temp sensor, easy test. Buy a new one, you'll need it sooner or later. Unplug the wire from the current one, plug the replacement in and just let it lay on the intake, no reason to replace it until you're sure that's it. When they fail, the engine thinks it's damned cold and...

Harmonic Balancer - super weird (at least to me)

I haven't found anything that'll destroy them faster than a good daily dousing of oil. I've had more than one with an oil cooler whose junk lines leaked onto the motor mount. They're mush when you take 'em out after that. Good on ya for getting it fixed!

Poll -Would doing a LS swap in a CLEAN 1987 V10 INCREASE to DECREASE VALUE?

The new ones, absolutely. The 90's version, not so much.

Value of a 400/402 big block?

^ been there, done that...if it's cheap, no harm, no foul. You might find somebody with a late 60's muscle car that wants it, it's a great feeling to facilitate someone's restoration.

Value of a 400/402 big block?

And in a few years, you'll get to pass it along to another friend..and so on, and so on....

Value of a 400/402 big block?

There's a reason many reject a 396/402 in favor of 454's: POWER Even the 4.250" standard bore big blocks have issues with the big combustion chambers of big block heads, many builders notch the tops of the bores to help it breathe. This problem is magnified with the smaller bore 396/402 block...

New to tbi, no start 87 blazer

Yep, had the same thing happen several years ago. It was showing all the good signs (fuel, etc.) but wouldn't fire. New module fixed it right up.

Poll -Would doing a LS swap in a CLEAN 1987 V10 INCREASE to DECREASE VALUE?

As long as you're taking care of the engine that's in it, you'll have no problems with the bottom end. Have the heads rebuilt and put 'em back on and drive it. Unless your truck is perfect right now, you'll spend more on the LS swap than it's worth now and definitely won't double the value...

    6.2l K5 Hunter Package

You realize that the 6.2L is a gutless P.O.S., right? I was farming when they came out and a lot of farmers immediately bought 'em because they all knew how powerful diesel engines were. All were sure they'd be able to pull 3 or 4 cotton trailers at a time with one. Couldn't untrack a single...

Legality of rolling back an odometer

I've always thought of a "constructed" vehicle as custom, usually beginning with a one-off or modified frame and other parts. When a cab, doors, bed, tailgate, fenders, hood, core support and frame are possibly from different vehicles but are the same as original, it's a "cobbled together...

Question, are all full size square body Blazers referred to as K5 ?

Yeah, clever. Actually, one is a '92 Blazer, two are '97 Hoes. All 4WD and lift gate "hecho en Mexico" models. We have three grandkids that live in the foothills of the front range of the Rockies. Each of the kids will help build the engine and rework interiors as needed. And each will have a...

Question, are all full size square body Blazers referred to as K5 ?

I have a GMC, it's a K-5 And while the name was discontinued, GM continued to make the 2-door model until '99, just renamed it "Tahoe" in 1995. I have three.

Lowering kit is lower than expected... issues!!

^ I doubt that this is the issue, I've lowered several with stock shocks and they never limited rebound. It's an easy theory to test, though - disconnect the top of the shock and see what happens. Regardless, you should buy some new shocks built for the correct amount of travel.

Lowering kit is lower than expected... issues!!

What the hell's wrong with air shocks or mullets? Young folks nowadays want to shave the sides of their heads and have an explosion of unruly shit on top. I don't understand it any more than they understand my mullet. And in the right situations, air shocks are OK. Not the best usually, but OK.

'Puff' on start up! valve seals need replacing....

I dont' think I've ever seen umbrella seals on a small block, only big blocks. I know several builders that put NO valve guide seals on the exhaust side and lock-down seals on intake of big blocks. There's no "sucking" on the exhaust side like there is on intake and if that exhaust side gets...

'Puff' on start up! valve seals need replacing....

If it's only a puff, I'd leave the seals on the bench and save 'em for the next valve job, but I'm lazy when it comes to what I consider to be an inconvenience but not a necessity. Put 20K more miles on it and it'll still be doing exactly the same thing. As long as your plugs aren't getting...

Build 'em like they used too?

I'm an O'Reilly's guy. I have a couple of counter guys that recognize me when I walk in the door. "Which of your POS trucks are you needing parts for today" is my usual greeting but they can grab most of the parts I need right off the shelf without looking anything up in the computer. I'll go...

Need help finding info/parts for 'burb tailgate

Springs are on the latches and pull-rod connectors. Once I got everything lubed up good, it started working. Kinda. There's a lot of wear in the latches, I'll snag the set that were on the tailgate I cut up and use them.

    Dyno do’s and Dyno don’ts

Paint tips and secrets? Shiny and smooth not only looks a lot better, it's so much easier to clean than rough. And good on you for not painting the fasteners. I don't care if it's not the "factory" look, it's a lot cleaner and more professional looking with fastener heads exposed.
