    ideas for taller nv4500 mount

Tried to flip my x member to inside of frame and it's not gonna happen... the 205 makes contact with the pass side exhaust. So I'll have to rework the exhaust possibly get new headers. I've got Doug thorley tri y right now. I was however able to shim up the transmission mount a quarter inch and...

Do you have a part number for the energy suspension mount? I like that allot. How much did you end up trimming off the out side of the member. (Disregard I saw your other post)

I see absolutely nothing wrong with the way you did yours I was just thinking about the additional clearance you'd gain from moving the entire cross member up. But the 2"of ground clearance you'd gain probably doesn't mean shit when your truck is 30 feet long haha

how do i find out what size lift was installed on truck before i bought it

For what it's worth. My truck with 8"front springs runs 17" from top of axle tube to bottom of frame. My friends 77k10 w 6"lift measures 15". Not sure if that's gonna be proportional for all lift sizes or not. Mine has 454 his has 350. Mines 1 ton his isn't...

I was gonna do exactly like you did for now. What do you think about skipping the cross member to the inside of the C channel and building two spacers with a filler to fit inside the "hat" of the stamped member? It would be more work but you would gain ground clearance. And it'd appear stock...

What's the major benefit of running long input? My guess is helps with front d.line angle? That sucks to hear about AA. I've always wanted one of their atlas cases.

Sounds good thanks buddy. It looks like the top of tranny shift tower is just flush with floor so lifting will most likely require some sheet metal trimming.

    What size clutch?

I believe they use the same flywheel. Assuming you have an 11 now. If you turn the flywheel you shouldn't have a problem running a 12. PITA but I think you could also count the ring gear teeth and cross reference it.

It might need to come up 2" seems like a lot but my engine is definitely cranked back. My 14" air cleaner rubbed a hole in the insulation on the hood. Lol I'm just curious if 2" will be too much for the current exhaust setup

I would have no way of knowing what crossmember they used  it's definitely a factory stamped gm unit. which is why I was thinking leave the xmember where it's at and raise the trans with a taller mount. front d line has a 1 inch spacer installed on front yoke. As I type this I'm thinking...

Hi guys I need to shim my trans up about half inch to get more room on the firewall for plug wires and the distributor cap. Anybody aware of an aftermarket unit to do this? I'm not worried about drive shaft angle and shifter location I'll deal with those accordingly. I was thinking of using...

Ya that's why I'm scared to touch anything under the hood! I found a complete v3500 parts rig and nabbed all the belt drive accessories to put mine back to stock. I'm trying to get my a.c.working again my truck has a billet aluminum under drive serp setup right now. Looks bling but spins so slow...

The Speedo is 5mph off at 70. So not sure how that affects odometer but if the truck stays moving ya, calculated 12 mpg doing my 60 mile 1 way commute to work. Around town with all the stop lights it is closer to 5. Barely sees 4th gear and time to slow down again lol.can't wait to move

Crazy the truck didn't burn to ground. I'm happy that hee didn't splice into stock wiring. So it's fairly easy to clean up and remove

Bought the truck like it sits. Following both your threads, I've slowly been going through the truck fixing misc. Things and putting things back into working order. I got a smoking deal on it but it's got it's problems...the p.o. (not the guy that did the trans swap) wired up all the off road...
