Boring a block isn't really a great thing to do. Its rather the nature of the beast to having good round and smooth cylinders. I'm pretty sure a fill gasket kit is going to be like 75 bucks. Figure oil, filter, coolant, thermostat and topping off the trans after pulling the cooler lines will be another 70. Maybe is you are lucky you could skim through a junk yard and find some decent heads and maybe some.ramhorn...- Rule_So_Hard

Chevy 302s and 327s are my favorite engines. I'm not huge on strokers....unless you are building it for towing and such.- Rule_So_Hard

Yeah, what a lot of people don't realize is the 305 is a stroker engine. That's why its so tourqey ..And its a great light duty truck engine. The real problem with it is the valves are much to close to the cylinder walls and that really kills cylinder fill.- Rule_So_Hard

If you are going to be using a truck to tow and haul with the torque is really nice. Even crawlers make good use of it. But in mud, snow, climbing, pulling etc... Rs are where its at. I lost the video but at the local mud bogs a few years back we had all the mud boggers scratching there heads...- Rule_So_Hard

Another thing to remember is that horsepower is a measurement of tourque. Without torque you cannot make power. And the engines HP and torque cross at 5252 because of the equation used to find HP from torque says they cross there. It is the constant in the equation. Just light time is relative...- Rule_So_Hard

Not tourqe over time mathematically. Torque measured over a given time. Like I said I'm not trying to debate. I understand that stroker motors and different engine designs make broader, flatter, peakier etc... Torque bands. But high rpm torque is what makes power. If you want to make power around 2000 rpm which is good for drivability then yeah TBI heads will give you that but that's because of their restrictive ports. Not to get into a debate or male things technical but tourque is and horse power are one in the same. Horse power is just a measurement...- Rule_So_Hard

Few more tips I didn't mention Pulling the radiator out is easy and makes it a whole lot easier. Be careful to not wreck the trans cooler lines when pulling the engine...not hard to do.- Rule_So_Hard

Pull to the right?
Really good chance its a seized caliper or the pins are crusty. My truck is have this same issue. The PO put a new passenger side caliper on it but not a drivers.....and I have a feeling he didn't bleed the brakes either. over heats when turned off. trans fluid climbing tube?
I understand that you're "Not supposed to" over fill the trans but I always have ran type F in my Chevy transmission and a half to a quart over full. I've never had an issue with foaming. Not saying it couldn't happen or doesn't. Just saying in my personal experience.- Rule_So_Hard
