    4" lift no vibration

Drop the transfercase more. The angle of the transfercase and the pinion angle have to be close to the same. If you buy shims buy the steel ones. You have to bring the front of the pinion back down where it was. The shackle flip tilted it up at least 4 to 6 degrees. The transfercase angle and...

    4" lift no vibration

The shackle flip changed your pinion angle just enough to cause the vibration. Lowering the transfercase should help. The transfercase and the pinion need to be close to the same angle. The CV joint in the front drive shaft will compensate for any change in angle at the front of the transfercase.

Post your toys, square or not

Guys guys, The motor is half gone, no intake no heads and whats left of the block is a boat anchor. The interior was stripped out years ago. Most of the dash is gone no gauges no glove compartment door. The floors are rusted out. I know how you feel I would not cut up something of great value...

Post your toys, square or not

This is one of my future rides. I got this about a year and a half ago. It's a 1953 Superior Cadillac Hearse. The plan is to make it four wheel drive add about 20 inches of lift and 44 inch tires.

What C4 is calling a bumpstick is slang for what is commonly referred to as a camshaft.

    12bolt axles worth 300 bucks?

You should be able to find a 12 bolt rear end for around $125 from a individual or $180 to $200 from a junkyard.

    Tire Size Law

I've only been pulled over twice in six years here in Texas and thats in our big 4x4. The first time the truck was covered in mud and we were driving slow. All the officer ask was if everthing was all right. I said yes , we just don't want to throw mud all over the other cars. He just said do me...

New here and want to redo my 87 1500.

Nice truck! I'd go with the 454. You can get 400 horsepower without breaking the bank. A Dana 60 front axle is a good choice but keep in mind it weighs over a hundred pounds more than a Dana 44. With 35" tires and a 454 you can stay with the 3.73's but 4.10's would be better. The turbo 350 can...

    Lets see your lifted trucks

Thank you for the comments. The truck has about 18" of lift. A 3" body lift and around 15" of suspension lift. I used 8" superlift rear springs along with lowered spring hangers and a shackle flip. The tires are 44" Groundhawgs (It's a shame they don't make them anymore). When the Groundhawgs...

Difference in K10 and K20 Front Springs

I have a question. My 4x4 is setting on a 84 3/4 ton frame' It had 56 inch rear springs and I replaced them with 52 inch springs. I had to drill the holes for the 52's. The question is: How prevalent were the frames with holes punched for both length springs?

40 gallon suburban tank in reg cab ?

Ok then... Liftmeup lets get back to your original question. Tell us more about the truck you want to put the 40 gallon in. Is it stock, 1/2 ton, long wheelbase, 4 wheel drive? I wouldn't be to concerned about the extra weight of the gas. If it becomes an issue then beef up the springs to...

40 gallon suburban tank in reg cab ?

Yes, that saddle tank scare was crap and it cost GM some money. I have one saddle tank mounted to the inside the frame rails. It's only a 16 gallon tank but my truck isn't a daily driver. I'll take some pictures some time and explain how I did in a tech write-up. I will say that you'll need a 3...

40 gallon suburban tank in reg cab ?

It can be done, but the crossmembers are diffrent. The crossmembers in the burb that the tank came from are made specifically to fit the shape of that pan and the tank. Just improvise! You can make it work.
