    Red forced into DD duty

I'm using my 84 K20 (Red) as my daily driver until a new turbo comes in for my TDI wagon (Liesl). So far, he's done well. I'm using a bit of oil (not sure if it's leaking or its going through the combustion chamber, the driver wheel cylinder started leaking, the wheels need to be rebalanced...

What have you done to your square lately??

Do you have a pic of the vent you are referring to? Most of the squares I've messed with were AC trucks. Jake

Installed marine grade USB-Voltmeter-12V power plug combo. It's temporarily installed in the radio hole until I can determine a more permanent location. Jake

    2" Tuff Country EZ Ride

With a 2" lift you will not need a steering arm, but replacing the brake lines with longer ones is always a good idea. My 84 K20 has a slight rake with the stock suspension. Jake

Need advice on mechanical fuel pump

I definitely would. It's a quick repair, and will prevent a failure. I was lucky, and mine failed in the driveway. Before changing the fuel pump I did have issues with the engine missing/cutting out if I drove for more than 15 minutes, along with severe pinging under load. Jake

Need advice on mechanical fuel pump

The pump can be changed without changing the oil, but if the pump had a diaphragm failure it's a good idea to change the oil. A failed diaphragm can let fuel into the oil. Jake

    96 subaru outback.. wife's new toy/DD

I've owned two Scoobies. A 2000 4 door Impreza RS (1st 4 door RS in Ga), and a 1999 Legacy Outback. The only issue with non-turbo'd Scoobies are head gaskets on the 2.5 (both DOHC and SOHC) engines. The turbo engines have known issues with ringland failures at high boost and stock pistons. You...

Need advice on mechanical fuel pump

New fuel pump is in, along with new rubber lines. The fuel filter is now completely full, where before it was barely half full with the engine running. Update: I went on a test drive after a summer evening thunderstorm. Rolled into the throttle in 1st, and spun the tires into 2nd until I let...

Need advice on mechanical fuel pump

The fuel pump died in Red today. Luckily, it died in the driveway, This is the first time I've had to replace a SBC mech fuel pump, and I see several different options for a stock replacement. The engine is stock, except for an Elderbrock performer intake and Holley 600 carb. I plan on...

Rear mounted 31 gal tank for sale

I have a GM-14C (31gal, rear mounted) fuel tank for sale. I bought it to do a rear mount conversion on my 84 K20, but decided to keep the side tank. This will fit all Burbs and K5's from 87-91 (TBI fuel injected models). I would prefer to sell this locally (Charlotte, NC area), since...

    84 K20 standard drum size (14bsf)

I know I can pull the drum and measure, but I'm being lazy and its sleeting. What is the standard (or most common) drum size used on the 14 bolt semi-floater? I need to order new wheel cylinders, shoes, and hardware kit. Jake

3rd Gen Ram 2500 17" steel wheels on a Square?

I did not get the wheels. The furnace decided to crap out right before a cold snap hits, so wheels will have to wait. I believe the only wheels that did not have a safety bead was the 16.5". I know the aluminum 17's used on Rams have a safety bead. Jake

3rd Gen Ram 2500 17" steel wheels on a Square?

Well, the guy is desperate to sell the wheels and tires, so I'm getting the Dodge 17x7.5 wheels with 245/75/17 and a set of 265/70/16 michelins for $250. If the dodge wheels do not fit, or look "right", I'll just slap my stock 16's back on it Jake
