    Power Steering Belt Adjustment

Thanks for the diagram... But I think my engine is missing the adjustment bracket. Or do I have it wrong?

    Power Steering Belt Adjustment

I've got an 84 K10 that was a 305 and the PO put in a 350 SBC. The main belt looks tight, but the power steering belt is sagging. How do I adjust it?

700R4 TV (Throttle Valve) Cable Adjustment

Schedule I gotta say its the best bang for your buck motorsport. Usually $50 for the day. You don't need track brake pads, fluid, harnesses or anything. Just a mechanically sound car. They run all sorts of classes and have free instructors for ride alongs. I highly recommend it. The events...

700R4 TV (Throttle Valve) Cable Adjustment

Yeah, it has a really stiff pedal feel. Its actually hooked up to an engine hoist bracket I think. My PCV valve hose is right in the way as well, I need to come up with something better. I used to live in Fishtown in Philly about 3-4 months ago. I ran Autocross events by Philly SCCA. Those...

700R4 TV (Throttle Valve) Cable Adjustment

Ok. I installed the corrector that you showed me and a new bracket for the throttle and throttle valve cables. This seems like a big improvement to me... what do you think? New Youtube Video

700R4 TV (Throttle Valve) Cable Adjustment

I'm fairly certain its an Edelbrock 1405. On the front left corner of the carb there is "1405 1216" stamped in the metal. I have no idea what intake it is, but it also had Edelbrock stamped in it. I'm going to pick up these parts: EDL-8031 - Throttle Cable Bracket, Steel, Black...

700R4 TV (Throttle Valve) Cable Adjustment

Here is a video of the linkage. Sorry its thrown together but hopefully it gives you a good moving, multi-angle look at my screwy setup. nxuMYaNGKB0 YouTube Video

700R4 TV (Throttle Valve) Cable Adjustment

I wish I knew what killed it. It burned fluid like nobodies business, and never hit overdrive. Based on the VIN it probably was attached to the original 305 that came with the car. I believe it is a Edelbrock Carb... not a webber. Check my old thread for more pictures of it -...

700R4 TV (Throttle Valve) Cable Adjustment

http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php?carcode=1299708&parttype=8484 ATP Y228 The previous owner had a 700R4 linked up like this with an older detent cable. I replaced it with this one to be safe.

700R4 TV (Throttle Valve) Cable Adjustment

I finished up a trans swap and I'm trying to get the linkage right. I'm worried that there is slack in the throttle valve cable when the throttle is close. I know how important line pressure is on the TV cable. But full throttle operation seems good, the shifts come at the top of the RPM range...

    Heat/AC Distribution Troubleshooting/Vacuum Control

Yeah seems strong enough. She makes a great deal of racket, sometime it squeals a bit. But full blast heat will singe my beard. Feels like strong airflow... I wonder if I have bad seals somewhere?

    Heat/AC Distribution Troubleshooting/Vacuum Control

I turned on the heat and put the ac to lever to defrost. There is a distinct hissing when I remove the vacuum line from the actuator/valve at the floor vents by the "go pedal". There is very little flow down at the feet either.... Do i have a broken actuator?

    Blown Shocks?

I have a gravel driveway which adds to the fun. I sucked it up and swapped the transmission myself, but I didn't need to get it far off the ground. I'll get a quote from a shop then decide. I used to live in Philly about 3 months ago, I would've totally hit you with a case of beer for a...

    Heat/AC Distribution Troubleshooting/Vacuum Control

It has/had air conditioning, it just doesn't work. I definitely have the controls. I'm guessing that the vacuum line for the defrost door isn't operating. I did a vacuum test on the carb and it had no leaks... Should I repeat the test but try turning on the defroster? Or do I use a special test...

    Blown Shocks?

Well, I just blew a bunch of cash fixing the transmission. I'd like to wait. Are these springs really dangerous? I just use it to drive 2-6 miles at a time right now. Also how hard is it to install the springs? That seems like a pain to do with a lifted truck in a driveway. What would the labor...

    Heat/AC Distribution Troubleshooting/Vacuum Control

Maybe I'm missing it here... But my defrost setting doesn't work. Heat blows really hot into the cabin, but I don't get a thing from the vents up by the windshield. What should I look at? Defroster actuator? Where do I find it?

    Blown Shocks?

I don't think my primary complaint is oscillations... I guess it's just stiff lousy lift springs. I just don't like the rear hopping around when I go over a dip in the road. So it's probably not shocks, but I think it could use more damping.

    Blown Shocks?

I am a new owner of a 1984 K10 1/2ton. It has 35x12.5 tires on it, and what I'd guess is a 4 inch lift. I'm still not sure how to measure it exactly. My truck seems to be bouncing around, quite a stiff ride. I'm guessing I have blown shocks? It there an easy way to test that? And if I wanted...

    Front Drive Shaft Bolts

I have a 1987 K10 Pickup with 10 Bolt front Axle (not sure the ratio yet). I have a front driveshaft but I lack the 4 bolts on the transfercase side and I'm missing one of the four bolts on the differential side. Where do I get these bolts? What specifications do I need? Strength etc. Also...

    Dead 700R4 - Now what?

Sounds handy. Do I need to order a special TC? I was going to get whatever HD TC the trans guy suggests. Down the road I might want to hook up a lock-up I guess. Right now I'm itching to just make it road-worthy.

Diagnose Engine Problems w Vac Guage

I ran a vacuum test on my 350. I shot a youtube video of it. Based on some guides I read from this thread. I'm guessing I have weak valve springs? Or is the vacuum drop under throttle normal? Youtube Video of Vacuum Test wrR746tygp8&

    Dead 700R4 - Now what?

HotRodPC - This is a ignorant question.... but what exactly is a lock-up setup on a 700R4 (or any trans) and why would you want one?
