Short bed side rust prevention?
I just spent two weeks cutting/grinding /welding/painting on both of my NLA bed sides! Does anyone have a method to treat the inside of the bed panels? and the floor supports? the floor supports can only be accessed 1/3 of the way from each end! 1978 K10 w/ a SBC350 - Vacuum Lines Setup and Dirty Fuel
Pull the dist cap and check where the rotor is pointing! the back fire might have caused it to jump time on the timing gears/chain? with the crank at TDC the rotor should point to EITHER #1 OR #6 if anywhere between pull the front cover to check the gears/chain for proper timing Olnick- olnick

3.42 gears vs 3.73 gears
Changed out the dead 350 for a 700R4 the tranny is great, However I had 2:73 gears and the swop does NOT do it any justice!!! I need to drive around in 3 rd. as the RPM are WAY too low in O.D. and lock up converter. My MPG went from 18-20 down to 12 on a good day. I just replaced the gears...- olnick

Brake Lines Copper or Steel
I have used nicop for the last 10 years and have NOT needed to replace any lines in that time and they still look new! The ferrous fittings are soda blasted then soaked in metal prep for an hour, I then use metallic copper never seize/sealer on the tube and threads of the fitting. Had a wheel...- olnick

Carb decision
I have to agree to go with the Q-jet! I thought I was able to do an excellent job of setting up the Q-jets using the "ROE" book for the last 35 years, I did an okay job I know know this after getting the book by Cliff Ruggles and following it to a "TEE" Follow his directions for the APPLICATION...- olnick

1978 Vent window whistle noise!
Thanks 1986 GMC Jimmy: It was a breath of fresh air reading your comment! Such a pleasure sharing with someone that is able to communicate! The latches were loose! My mod #9,987 was able to remove all of it and then some, That made them even more snug against the seals to no avail!! Thanks... -

1978 Vent window whistle noise!
Has anyone come up with a solution to the whistle noise from the went windows? Up to 45 MPH you can talk its nice and quiet. At 45 MPH is gets loud at 50 MPH it no talking at all! I installed new vent window seals, after a week of not sealing any better than the OEM units, I gave them a good...
