    91 5.7 TBI hesitation problem

Here are some pictures of the label inside the glove box. Hopefully I did this correctly so you can see them.

    91 5.7 TBI hesitation problem

Did the wires about three months ago. Haven't done plugs or cap/rotor yet. I bought the Suburban last October so I have no idea when the last tune up was done.

    91 5.7 TBI hesitation problem

I also just took it out for a drive and it didn't hesitate. It hasn't rained since last night and it's been sunny outside. Moisture problem?

    91 5.7 TBI hesitation problem

Ok, more weird things for you to consider. The gas gauge is acting strange. When it sits at idle (and the idle is very high until it warms up) the gauge goes way past full (may an inch or more past) but then when I put it in gear and start driving it settles back to "full". The AM stations on...

    Nope. No "service engine" light.

    91 5.7 TBI hesitation problem

Thanks for the help everyone. I disconnected the vacuum solenoid and plugged the EGR port and the TBI port. The hesitation problem went away for about a week and came back yesterday (the ports are still plugged, btw). The only thing I can think to add is that it started raining yesterday...

Need antenna help for 1991 V2500

I solved the problem. I found an 89 at a small parts yard in my area. The cable is specifically made for the antenna so a generic antenna extension cable from Wally World wouldn't work. The guy at the salvage yard let me have the entire antenna assembly for $20. Not bad considering LMC...

    91 5.7 TBI hesitation problem

I will try to do that today sometime but I don't know if it will help. The diagram may not be the correct one for the engine. Here's why... A little history on the suburban. It's titled as a 90 GMC R2500 but it's a 4x4. I had some transmission work done on it last year and the owner of the...

    91 5.7 TBI hesitation problem

Update: I think the problem is fixed. I disconnected the EGR valve from the EGR vacuum solenoid. There was no difference in the acceleration. The loss of power was still there. I then disconnected the vacuum solenoid from the TBI and there was no loss of power of drop-off in acceleration...

    91 5.7 TBI hesitation problem

Yes. I changed the fuel filter along with the fuel pump. I bought a rebuild kit for the TBI in case it might be the fuel pressure regulator. I'm gonna try isolating the EGR valve today and see what happens. I'll post later with an update. In the mean time, I appreciate the suggestions...

    91 5.7 TBI hesitation problem

OK thanks. I'll plug the hose coming off the EGR and drive it tomorrow and see if that makes a difference. I'll post tomorrow and let you know what it does. Thanks.

    91 5.7 TBI hesitation problem

No. My son has it and is out driving right now. Should I pull the hose and plug the EGR or just leave the EGR line open and then test drive it?

I pulled the hose off the egr. No change in idle speed.

    91 5.7 TBI hesitation problem

Hey Everyone, I have a 91 V2500 with a 5.7 350 TBI motor (4x4 with 4L80E transmission & NP241C transfer case). The problem I'm having is that when the Suburban warms up it starts hesitating when at cruising speed (just about any speed above 40 mph). It acts like its losing power &...

Need antenna help for 1991 V2500

If I'm seeing things correctly, the piece that is between 41 & 42 is actually one end of the cable. When I took drafting classes, way back in high school, we would draw the ends of items and leave out the middle part in order to utilize the maximum amount of space on the page. So, I don't...

Need antenna help for 1991 V2500

Thanks for the information. I'm thinking its just a regular diameter antenna extension cable and the female end of the extension cable attaching into the plug at the end of the antenna.

Need antenna help for 1991 V2500

Yep, it's factory alright. I thought the same thing about having only one cable from the antenna to the radio but I've looked it up online and this is the way it's set up. I also looked at the LMC catalog and it shows this type of antenna with an extension cable sold separately. See part...

Need antenna help for 1991 V2500

I have a 91 V2500. It has the factory fender antenna. My question is, the antenna lead is only about 12 inches long and has what looks like a female RCA type plug on the end. The section of wire that connects to the radio is missing. Does anyone know what type of cable (part number, etc.)...
