Wont Move What I said in the above post has to be done with the engine off. If that does not work then more than likely you have a broken shift fork as opposed to just having the plastic pads missing.... Damn plastic pads on the mode and range forks... Farmer Chris who answered above is correct... Your transfer case most likely NP208 has decided to shed the plastic pads that keep the mode and range forks in there proper spots. You have more than likely experienced what happens in this...- JimD-in-AZ

Np208 Won't Shift Into Neutral Or 4 Low?
Broken fork? My response of a simple lesson on shifting the GM np208, was in response to you saying in the original post (quoted in part right above this line )that the lever would not move to the neutral or 4 low positions & you didn't want to jam it.
