Fuel filler keeps backing up... Ideas?

Yeah same here, back it out just a bit and sometimes I twist it like '89 said.

Crazy noises in my front end

That or wheel bearing. Also, I had a similar sound that ended up being power steering pump. But generally, it's the wheel bearing needing grease or replaced.

Zinc/Phosphorus (ZDDP) for flat tappet engines

I'm wondering how many members here use oil with high amounts of zinc and phosphorus (aka zddp). For those that don't already know, oils today are not like oils of yesteryear, and oil companies have slowly been taking away ZDDP from engine oils because it clogs up catalytic converters. This is...

Looks good, same color as mine. Any idea what gear in the rear?

    Emergency Brake Problems!!

I had the same problem on a malibu I once had. I went to pepboys and they had the exact tool I needed. I believe it was called gorilla something. Only pepboys had it.

    Knock/rattle from flywheel area

It did just that, thanks for the tip. Seriously, the chatter went away, hopefully for good. Will post if it re-occurs. Austinado: I will try this when I get a chance, thanks.

    Dual fuel gas/pane

Kind of. A year ago i bought a wrecked 86 c10 that was identical to the 86 I drive. I needed the 350 in it for an engine swap I was doing to ditch the underpowered 4.3 that I had in mine. I noticed that it had been set up for propane, but now is running gas only and is running well. Other...

    small hole in oil pan

I agree with Chengny, drill and plug with teflon. Too many what ifs with the JB.

    Knock/rattle from flywheel area

I'll keep listening. Possibly related, but when taking off in 1st, I have been getting clutch chatter that shakes the truck.

I'm not sure, does the amp have a fuse?

    Knock/rattle from flywheel area

Maybe I'm going crazy, but when I was trying to do what Jim suggested, I could no longer hear the noise at all. I was hearing it this morning after I changed my oil and happened to go back under the truck while it was running. Then I tried to listen to the sound tonight, but when I got under...

    Knock/rattle from flywheel area

I'm getting a rhythmic knocking sound that seems to be coming from the flywheel area of my '86 c10 350 3 on the tree. I don't know how long it has been going on, I don't hear it over my exhaust unless I'm under the truck. When I assembled everything around april/june, I used locktight and...

    Need some mechanical input

If it has any modifications such as aftermarket headers, intake, carb, etc, I would make sure everything is tightened correctly first. Might want to buy a bottle of seafoam and run it through to clean all the grime out. Lube every moving part with a quality lubricant. I like to pour a mix...

    manual trans I have found.

Have you looked at any saginaw 343's? It's a 3 speed, 7 bolt side cover like you mentioned. It came stock in my '86 c10, and I personally like it very much.

    Sub "Thumping"

Are you running adequate gauge wires? What ohm is the sub? 100 watts isn't a lot when it comes to subs, especially if the sub is of a higher impedance, such as 16 ohms. Even with 8 ohms, 100 watts isn't going to pound much. Is this a head unit or separate amplifier? Also what make/model of...

    Dash cover

But the cracks keep your sunglasses and pack of cigs from sliding all over the place! Anyway, I have a buddy who has the jc whitney pad and it looks/fits great. I Know he is happy with it.

    What was your first Vehicle?

two: '88 s10 with the "iron duke" 2.5 4 banger. and a '96 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham with the LT1 and 4.11's... FUN After them, one that is post worthy (to me) is my 88 AMC Eagle 4x4 wagon. White with woody panels, 22,000 miles all original, garage kept. Loved all of these vehicles, wish...

    Low battery reading

An update: Took the c10 to my mechanic, he found that the charging system is in great working order and that it must be my gauge malfunctioning. I hope he is right. The stumble I was recently experiencing was just a fouled spark plug. Thanks to everyone that helped, and a special thanks to...

Aluminum Radiator Swap - any stock replacments?

austinado16, I tow on occasion. I tow a 26' bass boat mostly in the summer, and a 14' double axle trailer, sometimes filled with heavy crap. Usually I'm towing within 150 miles of North East MD. Not the hottest place on earth but it gets downright humid and miserable in the summer time. I...

Aluminum Radiator Swap - any stock replacments?

FWIW, I'm running the thin/smaller aluminum rad with plastic side tanks, and it does a great job of cooling the 350. It has been on the truck for about 5 years and I never get over 200*f, even in the summer. Usually stays at 185-190. I'm very happy with it.

    Dual headlights vs. Single headlights

What Jim said. Pull up to a wall or your garage door if you have one, and adjust them up and make sure they line up with each other. Be sure to pull straight up to the wall instead of a little crooked.

    Low battery reading

Thanks for the reply. I just finished doing the "big 3" wire upgrade. Still losing power, I'm down to around 10-10.5 on the gauge. I just found my multimeter, does anyone know what to check and what I should be looking for? This could be just another issue altogether, but on my way...

    Low battery reading

Bad news for me, I'm still producing low current. I had 13 amps until I got to work, then it dropped to 10.5 and would sometimes go up to almost 13, then back down again... The next thing I can think of are the wires to the starter that got pretty hot near the header before I got a heat shield...
