    Wiper Blade Length Tip

I was just thinking about this the other day. The ol' chevy's due for new wipers, and it looked as though I could go bigger than factory. Has anyone else done this? I would be interested to know whether or not the 18'' blades slow down the wipers. Thanks and welcome to the forum!

    How do I fix this?

Oh, ok. http://www.autozone.com/autozone/accessories/Thermo-Tec-4-pk-silver-Cool-It-Plug-Wire-Sleeves/_/N-268nZ1z11tvd?itemIdentifier=398831_0_0_ Most autozones have these right on the shelf, in packs of 2. I used one to slip over the starter wires, and just put the other one over a spark...

    How do I fix this?

WOW, $32 for sheet metal with a few bends and two holes? I'd be making my own. Anyway, I had trouble with the old starter when I went with long tubes. When I swapped for a new starter, all I did was use the wire shield like they sell at autozone. No more problems.

Ok thanks, good to know. I took it out for now, it came loose. I will re-install it if I keep getting dirt on ma plug.

    coolant leak new heads

Idk. If it came out while simply filling it, then it must have been a fairly large open area. Are you using all of the correct bolts for the head and intake? Everything torqued to spec? Might want to try another gasket.

    Do these trucks just vibrate?

Mine felt like that when it had a misfire in a cylinder. It shook the rear end as well. Also, could it be clutch related? Wet clutch or something?

What have you done to your square lately??

Do you have spreader bars on top and bottom? That's what I had to do to get my covers to seal. Also, I needed a new oil fill plug because mine got old, hard and a bit shrunken. No more leaks! Even with thin synthetic oil!

    th350 to stick shift....

I'm quite happy with my Saggy 3 speed, if you are still considering having 3 gears. 1st and 2nd give me good performance with my 350 and 2.73 rear (yes, even with a 2.73). 3rd gives me highway cruisin 50 mph+ with decent gas mileage to boot. It's a side loader, and it should, AFAIK, bolt right in.

    Anyone got Stacks?!?

Right on. I grew up and still live in farm country. The only trucks with stacks I've seen are ricky racer young boys "rolling coal" everywhere. Most of them never tossed bales or touched a cows teat. None of them were off roaders as far as I know. Just saying.

What have you done to your square lately??

I'm using dual raptors as well, I personally love the sound. Have you had driven the truck since the install? I love my cheap plastic/aluminum radiator! Keeps things nice and cool. It's even a small one that was cooling the v6 before I swapped to the 350. Glad you're happy with it.

    Hyrdaulic Slave Cylinder

I would replace slave now, possibly replace the rest of the system in the spring when it warms up. It might cause premature wear being that close to the header. Can you shield it somehow? A picture would be very helpful.

Zinc/Phosphorus (ZDDP) for flat tappet engines

Ooooooooo, purdyyy! I'm usually not a fan of red, but with the black stripes it looks pretty nice. Like the wheels too, are you planning on keeping them on it?

    Spark plug non-fouler?

Has anyone ever used spark plug foulers? My #8 cyl spark plug gets fouled much quicker than the others :shitsweak:, so I assume that I need new rings. While I was buying new plugs, the guy helping me suggests a spark plug non-fouler, which basically shrouds the plug from oil blow by. I am...

89S/Silvy Road Trip - Allentown, Pa Area

I've been round those parts. I live right on the edge of MD and PA, and in 2 weeks I'll be moving to an area around Oxford, PA. When I just feel like driving with my lady, we always go north into PA and cruise the back roads to Lancaster.

Zinc/Phosphorus (ZDDP) for flat tappet engines

I wish I could find VR1 cheaper... I've been paying 8 something a quart at the only place I can find it, Auto Zone. And for those that care, I usually get purolator pureone oil filters. Second choice is Bosch or wix (bosch is a repainted, over priced purolator p1).

Zinc/Phosphorus (ZDDP) for flat tappet engines

To let some of you know, rotella and other diesel oils have been losing their zddp too, to levels under 1000 ppm at the current API standards. Also, I've been skeptical about zddp additives (as opposed to being mixed by the oil comp). I have seen data proving that zddp additives do not mix...

I would like to see that chevelle dhamp. VR1 should do it good. Anyone out there using high zinc or does oil not matter anymore? I figured there would be at least some debate/discussion...

    Did I just get 16+mpg?

Good to hear you have improved fuel economy. I myself get about 16-18 mpg. Interestingly, I get about 5+ mpg more now with a 350 than with the 4.3 that came originally in my truck. And that 4.3 had a rebuilt + tuned q-jet, I'm running an eddy in the 350.
