    Dash Speakers

When I put 6x9s behind my s10's seat, I just went to a car audio shop and for about 70 bucks they made me a pair of carpeted boxes that fit well and let me slide the seat back. They were thin and angled, like these: Could have made my own, but I wanted them quick. Worked very well.

Help me ditch the dreaded one wheel peel...

All depends on engine condition/heads/etc, and gears in the tranny and rear. FWIW (not much), my peg leg 2.73 with a 2.85 1st gear, will smoke that one tire with ease. Stock engine, 882 heads (heavy cast, not the light crack prone ones), headers, weiand intake, eddy carb, nothing special...

what does a 1980 gmc grille look like

I would keep the grill that's on it and just clean it up, then maybe spray it with krylon chrome spray paint or some shit.

    Sm465 with 208tc and 4.10 gears

Idk, if I recall correctly, the sm465's have numerically high gears, so wouldn't he be better off with a numerically smaller differential? Edit: Here's what I found on wiki: Gear Ratios are: First Gear - 6.55:1 Second Gear - 3.58:1 Third Gear - 1.70:1 Fourth Gear - 1.00:1...

    Advice on starter issue

Retro Rich, many of us pretty much neeed to hear what the real problem was....

    Opinions please

Nice, glad to hear you figured out what was causing the dieseling. As for the carb, it's hard to beat a well running q-jet!

    Murdered out? Too common now?

I agree. I think it's the black wheels that don't look right to me.

    Bvllsh!t on craigslist.

I agree, definitely not stolen. Probably just a good ol boy trying to make an honest living. :secret: Not a bad deal, either. I wonder why he would let it all go so cheap? Oh well, his loss, your gain!

    Power steering

You are either very unlucky, or something else is causing premature failure. Someone else will have to answer the question about a 3500 pump. I would guess you could, but again, I think something else in the system is causing premature failures.

    Opinions please

I have had both q-jet and edelbrock carbs in my c10. Both were great, q-jet was slightly better on gas. Even though I learned how to tune and maintain the q-jet, I think I prefer the edelbrock due to its simple, leak proof, tune-holding properties. Many on here dislike edelbrock carbs, so...

    Lower Radiator Hose Clamp stripped...

Ok, yeah, the fan comes apart in half, it's easy to get to all the screws, I think you named all of them. Once that is off it shouldn't be hard to either snip the old one off after tightening a new one right before or after it. Maybe you could use some medium to heavy duty cutters to snip the...

    1977 C10 not getting fuel

How often do you use both tanks, and how often do you switch? Also, how full do you generally keep them? Could the tanks be filled with gunk from being old or sitting for awhile? What kind of carb is this? Did you install the fuel pump? All the connections and hoses the same as before, and...

Rebuild the old 350 tbi or order a crate motor

Interesting thread. I might have to choose between a crate engine and a rebuild next year as well. I have a cylinder that's fouling out it's spark plug via blow-by. At first I was thinking that a rebuild was certainly less expensive, but reading this thread has me considering a crate...
