    Found this yesterday

I found this cleaning out a friends grandfathers garage. Not new but looks great. May try to see if it works.

    Dome light override???

Thanks, I'll add it to my list of junkyard parts I need to get. I'm wanting something clean and factory looking.

    Dome light override???

Has anyone wired up a dome light override switch? I'd like to put one in my burb so I could leave the doors open without having to worry about my battery. I'm certain it's only a matter of finding the right wire and putting in a switch but I'd like to see if anyone else has done this.

    Steering Column Swap

Well I got the column swapped over and success, except now the headlights don't work. Looking at a wiring diagram it looks like the only part in the headlight circuit on the column is the dimmer switch. Anyone else have this issue?

    Steering Column Swap

Thanks for the insight. Fortunately it's not my dd so it can sit until fixed correctly. Probably going to get into it more next weekend. Thinking about that jeep steering shaft mod while I've got it apart. Sent from my KFTHWI using Tapatalk

    Steering Column Swap

HotRod that's exactly what it seems like. The lock cylinder turns with no resistance and only moves the steering wheel lock pin. It doesn't unlock the shifter or turn on any electrical power. Only the radio has power and can't be turned off using the key. Sent from my KFTHWI using Tapatalk

Thanks, I swapped a few from 70's squares and I remember them being pretty simple.

    Steering Column Swap

I'm planning to swap steering columns from my 85 C10 to my 88 R10. Do any of you smart mechanic times know of any reason why it wouldn't be a simple remove and replace job? The R10 column has an issue with the lock cylinder spinning freely from the acc position to the start position. The...

8 ft bed in poor condition

I have a later long bed I'd like to get rid of. It's complete to the tailgate and fuel doors. It's a dual tank bed, the wheel wells aren't bad, the bed floor is ok but it has four extra holes from a 5th wheel or something and the front panel isn't terrible. The rest is a rusty mess, including...

    Brake ID question

I'm planning on going through the brake system on my 85 C10 LWB. After looking into parts I realize J55-Heavy Duty Brakes on the service parts ID tag in the glove box doesn't match the JB5/JD5 etc listed for replacement parts. Does anyone have any thoughts?

    Slanted truck bed

I'm with bucket. It looks like the further back you go, the worse it gets. I had a broken leaf on mine and the whole truck leaned right.

craigslist scammer/heres his # blow it up

It seems like every time I post something on craigslist the first 4 or 5 responses that don't end up in the spam folder are always scam attempts. I only respond to emails until I'm sure about them, only accept cash and only have face to face transactions.

    Carb swap question

The results are in. After some challenges with the trans kickdown and some really old gas, it drove under it's own power. It's having some cooling issues so it's not ready yet but it's much closer than it was. http://youtu.be/nOqq_qgbgkA
