    Oh boy...my "other" vehicles lol

Nice, with Memphis being right here. There is a TON of fixer uppers for sale. I am thinking of buying nice vehicles needing a head gasket or transmission work. Do the work and then flip them. Nothing too serious maybe three or four a year. Told the wife it would pay for the shop I want in no time.

GM 10 Bolt Automatic Hub Part breakdown

Hey guys, I have searched and searched before I get flamed. :sorry: I can't seem to find the automatic hub parts break down. I went to replace a front caliper and there was a ton of slop in the hub. So, for the first time ever, I tore down the automatic hubs. I have a snap ring left over...

    Running block in the rear.

Stupid question, But running block in the rear for a 4" lift, does this hurt towing capability? Or should I just go for the all around spring kit? I am after a nice stance with 33". I have narrowed it down to this kit. Or at least I think I have lol...

    Front end roar(drivers)

So I have a drivers side wheel bearing going bad I believe. So my question, as I am SFA inexperienced. Is the roar coming from the end of the axle tube before the knuckle, or is it the knuckle end of the axle? Where the tire bolts to. My second question is, if I removed the auto locking hubs...

never jerk a stuck truck with a chain

When I was young and dumb and thought i knew everything as a teen a few of my friends and I went to the local mud trail area. Well anyway we barried a dodge 4x4, old square body gmc and a older 80's ford. I witnessed first had the carnage of a chain breaking and taking the legs of one of the...

    1986 HEI extra plug?

Hey 72Chevy2door, I barrowed your picture when I had a ICM problem wiith my 86 w/HEI. Anyway, mine runs great with that plug unplugged and sounds like a shot gun going off when it is plugged in. I have only had the truck about two weeks, so still trying to figure everything out. I know I...

    Points vs HEI vs WHAT?

Thanks hotrod, It turned out to be the ICM! The original owner put the 305 distributor in the 70's 350 that is in the truck now. Supposed to be a four bolt main blah blah engine. Time will tell if and when I tear into it. Thanks again.

    HEI question

Thanks bucket. I haven't really been able to drive this truck far down the road. Trying to make it more road worthy. It will be getting a LS swap this fall/winter.

    HEI question

Hello guys, So the other day the truck randomly shut off and I lost spark. To make it a short story, while putting in the new ignition control module. I noticed that the four way plug wasn't plugged in. I left it unplugged and the truck came to life even faster then when I first got it going...

    Points vs HEI vs WHAT?

hey, i don't mean to bring a thread back from the dead. I did learn a lot from this thread, and I am leaning to a bad module. But would/can the ignition control module go bad with truck running at idle? The reason why I ask is cause I had the 86 K10 down by the road unloading trash for the...

bad luck with both my squares at the time!! burning up HEI module.. WHY?

Following this as well. I was using the truck around the property. *waiting on title from orig owner* Anyway, I was at the road unloading the yard garbage and hoped in, gave it a little gas and poof, DEAD. Truck has sat for a long time before me getting it from orig owners. Wouldn't even come to...

Looking for a small lift and decent ride

Awesome, thanks 88. My cousin has a k20 with a 6" lift and it feels like there is no suspension. I am really trying to stay away from that. I'd like to be between modern day silverado's and a dump truck. LOL

Looking for a small lift and decent ride

Hey guys, Looking through the threads, and haven't come across any with the small lifts (2" or so) on the half tons. I would like to keep ride quality near the same or better. Yes I know it's a truck and should ride like a truck. But I don't want the ride of a dump truck. I have heard and read...
