Im pretty sure that 93 is external but not 100%. The short input shaft will work but I think you have to replace the rear tailshaft housing.
Can I use the stovk shifter on a np205, nv4500 combo or do I have to bo with the twin stick setup?
Mine has a torque bar on the passenger side only, is it supposed to have one on each side?
Also im needing a bell housing for the nv4500. I have already have the hydraulic clutch setup to install. My transmission is from a 1995 chevrolet truck
Can a stock nv4500 aluminum tailshaft housing handle the weight of a np205 transfer case? I have seen where you can buy a cast iron tailshaft housing, do I need it? I will be using the adapter / spacer from advance adapter also.
I have aquired a dana 60 front end with dually hubs and im wanting to convert it to a single wheel setup. I know I can switch the hubs out but im looking for a less expensive way of doing it. Any help is much appreciated.
You will need the transfer case adapter plate and I think you have to 3/4 of an inch off of the tail shaft.
Not 100% on how much you have to cut off though.
I wouldn't buy the kit from advance adapters, I would switch over to hydro clutch ($150-$200) and then get a NV4500 from a 92 or 93 with a MT8 RPO code (has the low first gear). I think you could do the entire swap for a little under a $1000. That beats $1550 plus labor and Wouldn't you have to...
Save yourself time and some work by just putting another tank up under it, you should be able to get one at a good price from Ebay or LMC. That's what I would do.
Tore apart a 1996 3/4 ton burb today at the yard, it had this skid plate on it. It had the 42 gallon tank but at least it gives me some idea of what they looked like. Have you ever seen one like this HotRodPC?
